Yay for AWD!
Just finished the final paperwork for an '07 STi with 15K on it...this thing is a beast compared to the little old Neon! Will get pictures up shortly...
Damn dude nice upgrade! Did you sell off the neon? I remember it was giving you trouble.
I'm still rocking the rear bumper I bought from you

Haha, thanks! For the time being, I've still got the Neon, hoping to have it gone by Saturday though...and yes, it died on me twice on my way to Charleston which further pissed me off, haha. Nice! I'm glad you're putting it to good use, haha.Adionik wrote:Damn dude nice upgrade! Did you sell off the neon? I remember it was giving you trouble.

If you are happy, then I am happy for you. But I will tell you this...
My dealership is a Subaru dealer as well. I will give you some advice on this car and please take it to heart.
These cars are a lot of fun. But they also require regular maintenance that you do not want to ignore. The diff services are critical on these cars. Also, if the car doesn't have a turbo timer installed, get one. Or at least remember to let it idle after driving it.
Do not use any other fluid in the transmission other than the Subaru trans fluid. It's not cheap, but you need to use only that fluid ( part # SOA868V9241 ). Also, chose wisely what mods you do to it, particularly on the suspension. It is very easy to destroy the beautiful handling of these cars with the wrong "upgrades".
Check out Grambo's thread about his Suby and look at the things he is doing to it. If you plan to do upgrades, keep in mind that the correct parts are not cheap!
Sorry to go on a rant. I have seen many of these cars literally destroyed or have repair bills so high that the owners sell them for parts! I'm really not trying to scare you, I just wanted to instill the importance of maintaining these cars, and the somewhat high cost of ownership.
Now, after all that...enjoy your car. They are wonderful machines!

If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

I greatly appreciate your advice, and I do plan on babying the hell out of this thing...luckily it's still under warranty, and I don't plan on doing any mods until the warranty is up...and I'm not one to skimp and buy ebay mods, it's either a trusted name brand part or nothing at all for me...and as far as suspension goes, I love where this thing is at now, I doubt I'm gonna touch it at all.Danteneon wrote:If you are happy, then I am happy for you. You would be surprised. They don't have the greatest fit and finish out there.blue demon02 wrote:Gaps and misalignment like that is not out of place on a Neon but not on a Subaru.
But you raise a good point. It would bear closer inspection I think. Especially the right side trunk to 1/4 area. The bumper cover to 1/4 looks about right though.
