No you need to take a drill and mod the whole in the projector youll see a little like metal edge in there you need to drill out a little to fit the hole. just had to do the same thing to get mine to fit.

Will the HID's fit into the projectors?
It depends on where you buy yours from. Some people have had no problems. I was actually scraping the sides of the insert when I tried to put my HID bulbs in, so I took a 3/8 drill bit to open them up a bit, and it works great, they are completely snug and and fit fine.

i just purchased the projector lights from modern and the hid kit that i own is a xetronic kit. they sell a bulb that is specifically for that problem its call the (H1p) bulb, the "p" meaning "projector" bulb . im not sure if it will work for your hid kit but you should look into it [url]www.xtralights.com

Double check that the base or the shaft of the bulb is not contacting around the hole. *thats what she said* Those projectors should have more than 2in depth to them. Just watch out for the shavings when you're drilling. I did my upside down and still managed to get some shavings in the headlight housing.

OK will look at it closely to see if it's the bulb or me !!! I have tryed it 3,4 times & could not belive it !!!:omgshocked:

If you know any one that did this with the projectors let me know !!
BTW it as to be the 03 and up for the projectors cause I don't know if it is the same projectors.
I saw & compare the HID bulb with the stock H1 and there is not much of a difference......... :slap:

Are you sure your bulb is touching the projector? I doubt it. I am pretty sure mine were that long too. BUT I did see something here.

Image

See the two little tabs on the base by the bulbs? I had to trim those off. Mine were just plastic so I very carefully took a very sharp razor and took them off. I also had to shave down the bulb hole a little to get the HID to fit. Just took a file and held the headlight upside down so no file shavings fell in the projector. Then it fit nice and snug. I would look into that.

I didnt have to drill at all. I cut the plastic nubs on the hid bulb and the metal on the bulb will slide right into the gap in the projector. I wish I took pics but will have some over the winter since Im going to buy a new set.

Nice! Glad you got em working.

Just a heads up, if you make the opening that the wires go through in that big rubber seal larger, that smaller rubber grommet can be used as a seal, letting less water in.
