Tire advice

Post by latief » Fri Oct 10, 2008 9:52 am

A while back, I got a set of used rims for a good price (see the link below) ..........

viewtopic.php?t=35324

The tires on these are amazing to say the least (after I researched this further). These are Bridgstone Potenza S-03 Pole Position tires (205 40 17) ............they are supposed to be an award-wining, top of the line performance tire..........i think they originally are $250 a tire !!!! by the way, they are like at 80% tread ....

Still, i simply do not like the ratio of tire to rim....the rims are 7.5 inch wide so i could go to a better size of 225 45 17 (which is what i would like), yes my suspension can handle this as i will be upgrading it soon...but i will only be getting around an inch of drop max ....

So what do guys think i should do? ride on these for a while and endure the nasty skinny tire appearance ? or sell these and get an el-cheapo $200ish set?

thanks,

I believe that tire was used on the 2001 Corvette Z-06 also. Don't quote me on that though.

As good as they are, you still cant get traction in my friend's z-06 with them.
