so what does a capacitor actually do with a system??? and how can i get my lights not to dim when i have my system going?

You need to upgrade your grounds first of all...that will help a LOT with the dimming

Capacitor as I have had it explained, works by storing some energy so the amp is not constantly drawing power from the battery, but kind of "Sips"

capacitors are a waste of cash. invest in better wiring and a better battery.

all u have to do is just add up the rms on the amps (If more than one) go get a kinetic batt that will hold the power, its way more better than CAP. And as for buying a battery, u could do that but its not gonna help that much.U wanna hit the heart of amps, and the only way of doing that is to buy a better alternator. I bought mine from OHIO GENERATORS, their on the expensive side but if ur into car audio than that would be ur best investment.

caps are NOT for dimming lights, they are for power conditioning... if you want to stop dimming lights you need either an electrical system that is efficient or one that can output enough amparage
