I don't know if this has ever happened to anyone else, but I thought it was pretty funny. Last night I went to lock my neon and my girlfriend's neon at the same time and found that neither one worked. So I tried it a few more times, pressing the buttons at the same time and I didn't work until they were pressed at different times. Can anyone explain this or is it something that should be really obvious

They use the same frequency to transmit the unlock signal. So when you hit both, both signals were emitted at the same time, causing them to interfere with each other.

I'll have to try that when my dad goes to unlock his neon, just to mess with him a bit.

You think that's funny... I went to unlock my car which was parked on the street one day, and the neighbors across the street had a visitor over. I hit the button, and I can hear their doors unlock on their Lexus and the lights blinked! yikes.

The same thing happened with my remote, any my neighbors ford freestar. They parked it behind my car on the street. My remote wouldn't open my car, but it was opening theirs and turning their lights on!

I saw something similar happen with 2 jettas at the gas station. The guy sat in the wrong car for about a minute trying to start it. They both had a good laugh when the real owner came out.

good thing it was those super chill, ultra hip v dub owners. Other people might not have found it so funny to find someone in their car

I have 2 05 Neons and they are setup that one remote will work for both cars. It's not bad until you hit the trunk unlock and then forget that the other Neons trunk is unlocked and drive it.
This happend the other day when I was going down the road doing 45MPH and the trunk lid started bouncing around. The cool thing was that the tall SRT wing caught the air finally and slammed the decklid shut...that thing really works.

reminds me of the commercial where the guy is flicking the light switch on and off in his garage and it's not doing anything... then they show the neighbors garage door going up and down crushing their car haha
