Post by Santos0508 » Fri Oct 17, 2008 11:19 am

I just installed a cd player on my friends 00 dodge neon and checked all the wiring to make sure it was correct, and also checked ground and its all good and also the fuse and it is not blown. Then I turn on the car and no radio. Please help me :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Did you test the lines with a multimeter?
Did you check the in-deck fuse?
Does the deck respond at all, light up anything?

check if the yellow wire is getting power too, and the orange wire isnt connected also.

if so check your ground. other than that your radio is dead

just take the deck, finding the ACC, power wire, and ground and hook it directly upto the battery upfront to make sure that the DECK works.

twist power wire and acc, put on + batt term. and take the neg wire and put it to the - batt term.

if that works, it's either:
a) your not wiring it up correctly
b) u blew the fuse under ur hood (if ur dome light works it's nto the fuse)

then u blew your fuse under your hood, make sure when u replace it, u dont' have any live wires touching, cuz you'll just blow it again etc etc.

yea if you throw in a fuse and it pops and your 100% sure your wiring is ok, and the orange wire isnt connected then try it without the radio connected and see what happens... ive seen bad radios pop fuses like this also

ok if you check all 3 fuses (2 in panel, 1 under hood... or was it the other way around?) that affect this circuit and they are all good and your still having this problem then follow this

check fuse on radio itself.
check and see if your getting voltage on your yellow and red lines.
make sure you have a good ground.
make sure orange isnt connected.
if all that checks out your deck is dead.
