i just got a set of rims that i NEED wheel locks for. it uses my stock lug nuts to mount so i dont need anything special. ive used 'McGuard' in the past and they were like $30..... what are my options???

Ermm...go to your local auto store. Most of them have wheel lock kits.

wow that helps, alot.

M12x1.5 - my old wheel locks fit, just cant find the key for them though so the rims still wont go on

i love the mcguards..... have had 2 sets, i lost the key to ones set one time, lucky for me i had sent in the registration card, so i just sent them 10 bucks and a letter requesting a new key and they sent me a knew one..... really quick too.

I don't think there are that many b/c I also discovered another key around the garage from a previous time we bought locks for another car over 8 years ago.

by that you mean it worked??

im asking how many diff key sets are made. id find it hard to believe that theyd all use the same exact key design - whats even the point of a wheel lock then if thousands of other people could use their key on your wheels!?

we stock a MASTER sets at work based on the vehicle...truck,car,etc....there is an average of 10keys perstyle..........pretty bad ain't it....

thats awful. i think im gonna go out and buy 5 diff sets of wheel locks and just use those as lugs. thats rediculous

i guessing they make a lot of them..... think about it, go look at the autoparts store and see if you can spot doubles... i'm sure they do repeat the sets, but in general, not all keys are unique (cars, doors, locks). and since they do have serial/registration numbers they can keep the design/mold of a key on file and just wait to see who needs one and have it made... but who really knows.
