3 questions

So, first off, I have a stock head unit....

ok, so, I have an iPod and the belkin tune fm, it just plugs into the iPod and you choose an fm station and it broadcasts to that station...now normally this works fine but recently I've been havng some issues. Basically what the deal is, is that it's on a clear station and it play fine and clear, but the sound kind of fades in and out of the rear speakers...it fades in quality and volume/intensity......I have a decent audio setup, all alpines, no subs...but the issue only happens when using the iPod...

The thing is though, I don't have the issue in other cars....does anyone know why this may be happening? Any common things I should check in my system such as grounds, wiring, etc?




Now for my second question...

My stock 4 disc cd changer isn't working, it won't light up, play discs, or respond at all...I'm not sure if this was caused by my accident, or what, but i really miss it because of the great sound quality that i can't get with my iPod.....I checked the connection on the back of the changer, but can't seem to get the H/U out very far without feeling like I'm gonna rip out wires...

Also, is there a fuse in the cd changer itself? Because I checked all the fuses under the hood and the dash, etc.....what else should I check?



And the third question...

if i can't really get the iPod to come in better, it's not gonna kill me, because I got the fm transmitter free, so no loss for me....and even though I'd really like the cd changer to work, if not would the following work?

Would I be able to connect my iPod to the H/U using a cable in place of the current connection with the cd changer? What type of connection is used for the audio from the cd changer to the H/U? because if it's RCA or something like that, have adapters that go from 3.5mm(headphone jack) to RCA that I could use, etc....

1. It sounds like there may be an issue with the fm trans. If you only exp. problems when using the ipod.

2. The h/u may have an internal fuse, I would also get a multimeter and test to see if there is power to the h/u.

3. I dont know what kind of cd changer your using I assume its stock? Along with a stock h/u? Im pretty sure none of the stocks have rca's. I know you can get some kind of adapter to get rca jacks on a stocker for subs but idk about ipod. I have an inline FM trans that works quite well but I dont use the radio at all so there is no interferance.

1. already stated its only in my car, thanks though....

2. the head unit works, the cd changer doesnt, would the fuse be in the changer?

3. yep, did state it was stock....as for the adapter, i looked and found one for like 60 bucks, ill check ebay when im home(cant get it at school)

Yeah, if you're having a problem with your FM transmitter in your car ONLY, and not in other cars, it's not your belkin. It's your head unit/antenna/grounds.

ok, thanks, i'll probably check into grounds....as i get other radio stations VERY clearly.....and i dont think there are issues with the head unit....

have you tried someone elses transmitter just to compare it to yours.. it could be possible that yours is on the way out..

You can get a direct ipod controller from crutchfield for about 50 60 bucks allows you to control ipod through stock hu it plugs into the same spot as the diisc changer

If other transmitters work in your car, and this transmitter working in other cars sell it and get a new one idk sounds like an issue of which station you may be choosing if your pulling other information on the same freq. it could impact sound quality but im not sure the things your describing dont add up...

i said my transmitter has this issue in my car, doesnt have the issue in other cars, i also said that other transmitters have the issue in my car, therefore saying, the issue is not in the transmitter, but the car.....

but, i guess now im looking toward a har wired route....as for some reason, my neon and fm transmitters don't seem to mix.....

Im sorry I thought you said other transmitters work fine in your car.
In that case check out the acc. make sure you have a good ground, maybe re-wire the ground if your feel like it.

Im sorry I thought you said other transmitters work fine in your car.

as for checking the acc. ground, where should it be grounded? and how do I check that it's grounded correctly? just make sure its a good connection?

Idk what year or model you have but I know there is a good spot to ground it near the fuse box if it isnt already grounded there, thats what I would try.
