difference between 01/02 & 03/04 r/t muffler?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

With the superceeded #'s you may only be able to get the AH one. Even tho OEMdodgeparts lists the various stages I'd almost bet they are not available. Your best bet is to call your dealer, or ask Danteneon/BRR. I think they are all the same.

I doubt there are any differences, unless the 03+ have wider cut outs on the bumper or something.

He's talking about the muffler itself.

All the above part #s supersede up to the 5278624AH as OD said. Some of the earlier #s are still out there, the only difference is price. The mufflers are the same. There may be some minor changes with each superseded level but nothing major.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

If the dual outlets aren't a big deal, and you want an upgrade from the SE/SXT muffler, just get the DOHC muffler. Not as loud tho, from what I've read. You will have to modify the hangers a little...

I meant the tips of the muffler being spaced out further or shorter if the cut outs in the bumper were spaced out differently. It seems that is not the case though.

I'd look for a used one if possible. For those new prices you could do a nice custom setup that would sound a lot better.
