NOS ???
Graphite03 ran a BMW cold start injector that came on for boost. It went super rich up top. Lambostealth used a Hahn kit with a port fueler to control fuel. There are ways around the NGC, you just have to think harder, or, use megasquirt.esteinmaier wrote:Short answer: they didn't tune it. The NGC won't go open loop like the older ECUs. So when you're on it, the ecu is aggressively trimming fuel down to 14.7:1. Tune it to 11:1 if you want, but 1000RPM into the pull, you're back at 14.7:1 and relying on the knock sensor to keep it from blowing up.
NGC is the type of computer that came in the 03-05 Neons. You can run any bolt-on nitrous kit on your car. You don't need any mods, but if you want to spray more than a 50 shot I'd recommend finding a timing retard controller so you don't ping and boom.

So many neons so little time.

I learned different from fast and furious Asians on crotch rockets blow up carsn20sxt wrote:nitrous just has a bad rap, i dont think its anymore dangerous to the motor than a turbo. like you said as long as you know what your doing, you'll be fine that is if you ensure proper fuel is being delivered (just like any other forced induction), your internals can handle the power, and you dont go spray happy juicing at like 500 rpm per say. Too many people have seen the fast and the furious and are like Oh my god nitrous blows up cars! This is not true in the least bit . If you crank the boost up on a motor that cant handle it the same thing happens when you spray a extremely high shot of nitrous. l

Nitrous is illegal in Florida. So if I got it, I would get the NOS "Sneeky Pete" system and hide the bottle under my rear deck and try to hid all the lines and other stuff as best I could.

Sneeky Pete is a tiny dry shot system, I wouldn't use it at all. You'll have to refill your bottle 1000 times and you'd get like 3 uses out of it. Honestly, a full size bottle can fit underneath your spare tire cover. And, a nitrous kit is only illegal when it is installed. You can have the bottle mounted, but if the line isn't hooked up, it's fine.

So many neons so little time.

No it's not illegal in all states. In IL it isn't illegal, but in WI your car will be towed. The only way you can get away from it is if you have the line disconnected from the bottle, but the rest of the kit can be hooked up just not to the bottle.
I think if they pull you over and suspect you have nitrous you probably did a moving violation lol.
Once you run a 50 shot you'll b like....Wow I wonder what a 75-shot will do. Trust me I was there. lol

Don't you know all they need is the sticker? The sticker alone will give them 500HP without actually having a NOS system (Nitrous Oxide System systemexcon wrote:So where you live in IL, if you have a giant NOS sticker on your honda like a ricer and you're pulled over and the officersuspects
you have nitrous installed and asks you to pop the hood sees it you won't get a ticket?

But purging doesn't add as much HP as the sticker though.

NX is the way to go if you want to get a kit... The cheapest decent kit on the market is the NX Main line kit. The only problem with it is that it has square solenoids, but they work flawlessly. They just aren't the nice polished expensive looking ones. Those kits go for about $600-650. I used the mainline kit for a long time and it always worked fine for me and I paid $400 shipped for it off ebay.

Especially if someone says [redneck twang] "Well, I ran this kit here for years, and last season I blew up mah motor, and tooken the nitrous off!" [/twang]. Zex kit is $600 new, I ordered mine from zex themselves and got the blow down tube and bottle bag for free.racer12306 wrote:new kit or nothing. nitrous is too volitle when things go wrong, like a bad solenoid.
