I just saw this Neon for sale last night in West Seneca near me. That poor R/T! I thought for sure it was just a base model with those euro's and cheap wheels. And yeah, he's right. It's not a motorsports edition. But there is a red MSE close to us. I used to play hockey with him.

Edit: That Neon has the R/T skirts but a single exit exhaust and stratus R/T badges also NO fogs. I should check it out in person soon and see WTF happened to this thing.

I've asked him to send me pics of the engine bay and/or to let me look under the hood since I live really close but he won't respond back. I pointed out to him that it's unusual for an R/T to have a single-exit exhaust and no fog lights. He posted it more than once so I flagged them all since I think he's lying due to him not sending pics like he said and now ignoring me after pointing out some red flags. If it was real, I'd love to take it off his hands, replace those euros, and debadge it.

That's what was making me question it as well... I figured it would be worth a look for someone at 500 bucks... Seems to me that the poster doesn't know his ass from his elbow as it is, which can mean that it is an r/t (maybe an ACR) and he's talking about the drums for the E-brake and manual rear windows or manual windows found on an ACR. Either that, or he slapped some shweet R/T badges from pepboys on there..

Well, it's 3 years past 2008 and it just 36K miles. That figures out to be just over 5K a year. This car looks and drives pretty much new. $7K for a low mileage, well cared for, needs nothing at all is pretty cheap and this one has all the equipment. Hell...this car's footwell carpet is still shaggy like it was when it was new! There is not a mark on the car itself anywhere. The trunk carpet looks as is if the trunk was never used. This car really speaks for itself.

Plus finding a low mileage, gas saver with nice options is hard to do in our area. Compare the 2002 SE+ we just sold with similar options, automatic and 74K with a bit more wear but it was still very nice. It went for $5K. Or the 2003 SRT-4 with minor mods and 42K miles for $10K. I think we are right where it needs to be.

And if you think it's such a bad price, come see the vehicle for yourself and make me an offer! I'm in the office at 9am every day but Friday.

Thank you! I think it will sell just fine given our sales history.

In July 2004 when I bought my 2004, I was looking for this same car in a different color. Actually 2 of my friends bought this same car in yellow and silver that same year. It was sold at the same dealer I bought mine from, as it were. The sticker on this car was about $17,500-ish with a $3000 rebate at the time. My has the same options minus the spoiler and fogs but adds the auto trans. My sticker was $17,3XX. I think it would be safe to say, a spoiler and fog lights were less than $1000 at the time. I can tell you that the auto trans was an $850 option that year.

If you can, send me similar American compact vehicles with similar options with similar miles being sold in the Pittsburgh area at dealerships for your suggested price, and I would be happy to lower our asking price. I honestly don't think it's too much to ask at all.

Besides, who pays full asking price at a car dealer? Seeing this car in person will change your mind, as I have said before.

Highly doubtful. You are asking 7K for an economy car that is 7 years old and has no factory warranty (or at the very least is just barely within warranty if you got the 7 year 70K) at a time when the economy is in the royal shitter. I would say you'll get roughly 5K from it and I'm very rarely wrong about this type of thing.

BTW, nobody cares what options cost you 7 years ago. Not when you're trying to sell the car now and you have it listed without the option you specified. (You list it as a manual with o/d and you're telling me that atx was an $850 dollar option?

And just for grins... kbb.com lists that car in excellent condition should go for roughly $6,380 at a dealer. So from the get-go you're already high.

i paid $3500 for my 03 stock RT neon a year ago.

yes you might be able to sell a neon for what u are asking for yours, but id hate to see who buys it.. hmm a grandma or grandpa who thinks they are getting a deal cause they dont know anything about neons. even back in 2004 when i had my other neon i only paid $6000 thats including taxes and it was an 04 neon with 25k miles.

point being, you cant base the price of what it was worth 7 years ago new from the DEALER. Neons arent valuable cars anymore.

Like you said... you're asking 7k for an SXT, but the SRT a few months back was priced at 10k and you said you guys would go lower on the price. The SRT seemed like a way better deal.
