Door kit and Lip kit question..
So I'm trying to find a shop that'll put my door kit on for me and the guy was saying that if he has to fabricate the fender and customize it to fit, blahblah and do all this crazy shit that he'll charge more than what he quoted me for. I told him how all he has to do is cut some shit off the back of the fender and that's it so that the hinge can fit back there.. is that true? There's nothing else that's special that you need to do is there? I got the JT Autostyle lambo kit online, in case anyone's wondering. I just want to make sure he doesn't have to do anything else and charge me more than what I don't have.
As for the lip kit, this shop does paint too, but the guy was saying he'd have to charge more if he had to bondo any pieces on... it's just full bolt-on, right? The Mopar Lip Kit? All I would want him to do is paint the pieces and if it's just bolt on, I can put them on myself. Anything crazy that anyone ran into, or is it fairly easy?
Thanks...

I might look into a different shop dude... This guy kinda sounds like a crackpot. Maybe he hasn't seen the parts and he's just trying to cover his ass, but still seems kinda weird. Not positive about the fenders, but they should just need to be snipped. As for the lip kit, I guess he's thinking it's a cheap fiberglass body kit... just get it painted and install it yourself. It's not hard, just takes a little while but you'll be more satisfied with it if you do the work yourself i think. I know I was.

Lol.. yea, I was trying to explain to him that the kit was bolt on and the door kit shouldn't be too much extra work and he goes off saying how he did another car and had to customize the fender and all this other shit. The sad thing is, he's the cheapest one around here... on shop wanted 1000 for labor, I was like "wtf?.. nah.. bye" lol..
But yea, I think I may order the lip kit and get them repainted since the mopar superstore doesn't have any in my color.
Thanks

Yea, I have an earlier post on this section about the door kit and he asked me to PM him, which I did.. haven't heard from him since. But I'll check his log, thanks.jake_tim wrote:As for the fenders, you may want to check SXXXT's progress log. IIRC he has lambo doors and he would know what needs to be done.

lol "kinda like NOS", nice.. I wanna get NOS purge for show purposes later in the future.. I think thats CRY02? My buddy got that shit installed on his SRT-4. Anyway, back on subject...Hudson_Neon wrote:look to a different shop. the hinges might need some fabbing. but the lop kit none. and any body shop that refers to body filler as "bondo" is f-ing stupid. bondo is a brand name and is complete shit... kinda like NOS
I'm gonna have a friend help me out with the hinges. I've already talked to kornholio788 and all I need is trimming of the fenders. No crazy fabrication of any sort (the hinges are made specifically for the 2gn Neons, so there isn't any alterations to the hinges needed).
