or perhaps autoillumination i think too. I'm going to have to look into the best option because I'm switching to blue once I get my Alpine HU in. I just want to make sure the needle and everything still light up red and there are no weird spots that don't light up like I've seen on some. Crystalmarie's look really good, whatever she used.

For what it's worth, when it came to my instrument cluster, I looked up what wire fed 12V to the illumination circuit, and spliced a ceramic resistor in there. So power to all gauge bulb locations is now 3V or so.
The LEDs I bought were regular 5mm ones. I mounted them in a drill press and bore a countersink into the ends, then put a drop or two of silver model paint into the cutout. This reflects the light out to the sides (wide angle). Then I just needed to put the LEDs into 194 style endcaps that they sell on the site.
