I have the stock headlights and they are in horrible condition meaning that the headlights are all scratched up and yellow looking, would i need to buy these in order for the silverstrats to look how their supposed to look

silverstars should be brighter than stock regardless. did you remember not to touch them to your bare hands (surgical gloves seem to work best)???

i wetsanding my headlights using 200, 320, 600, 800, 1000, and 1500 grit automotive sandpaper and buffed the hell out of it... 99% of rock chips are gone and they look clear as all hell. the bulb output seems greater now too as well

i haven't done anything to my diamond clear headlights and they're still spit shine clean (? lol)

However, I will say this about the silverstars...when I first put them in and tried them, i did think they were still yellow. BUT, look at the rest of the people on the road and then look at yours head on, and I guarantee they are much whiter than everyone else's. Is the light projected whiter than a virgin's wedding dress? No, but they are pretty close

Thats not it at all. Because your hands have oils on them, and the bulbs contain gasses, it can cause the bulb to blow out quickly and or dim out on you. All you have to do is do some research online. All halogen/gas type bulbs are like that and have been for many years. Its common knowledge that you do not touch the glass of the bulbs! :?

BTW, I have Silverstars and they are white and bright and give awesome light output. I even had one blow out on me a while ago (after being in for a few years) and I didn't even notice the difference at night. They are that good. :)

Way to steal headlights, moron. They deserve to be yellow.

And yes, Silverstars are overrated. At $20 a bulb, they should let you see through things.

there are always rebates for those so you can pick them up for as little as $35 or even $30

natural oils from our skins = never a good thing for halogen light bulbs, or anything you'd wanna preserve. You should always wear gloves when handling them.

Well thinking about it i dont think i touched them, neither did my gf, only thing that happened was that when i got in the car i put them on the seat and on the cup holder. When i look in the headlight the bulbs light up white, but the light that comes out of the lamp is yellowish.
Pics soon.

silverstars are actually worse for driving since they have a filter on them, if you really want an upgrade, swtich to sylvania xtravisions

drive in heavy rain and tell me you can see better with the silverstars in and I will be shocked

It's a toss up. I dunno. There are differences, I guess, quality being the biggest thing. But i got mine off of Ebay. I think it was lik 85, or 90 (including shipping). I haven't had any issues.

I'm assuming that one of the biggest differences will be with the water leakage. I may have gotten lucky with my set (knocking on wood), but if all else fails, just do what you can to prevent the leak. Silicone, rubber, i dunno.

Check out the feedback of the seller. If it's acceptable, go for it ;)

You stole your headlight bulbs and are complaining about their quality? I could maybe justify the complaints if you spent the money on them... :?

I have the silverstars in my neon and love them. I have no issues with visibility.

I have no issues in the rain either. Some of you might have to re-adjust your headlights. And no , mine do not blind other drivers. :)

That's what we did with Neonix's, we re-adjusted the lights after installing them and they seem to be working perfect for her.

The silverstars are going to fail in a few weeks bacause the skin oils from your fingerprints create hot spots in the glass that cause the bulbs to shatter.

If you do touch a bulb with your bare hands, clean the glass with an alcohol pad to clean it before you turn it on the first time.

Jonathan (RopeRat1)

P.S.Look at the silverstars on low beam with the fog lamps on at the same time and look at the diference.
