Greeting from Ohio

Post by silver00neon » Wed Dec 10, 2008 7:23 pm

Hey everyone what's up? Name's Josh 26 male form ohio, I like reading, cooking, and long walks on the beach.....

Wait, wrong intro.. lol

So I'm a college guy almost done with school majoring in Criminal Justice. I'm new to the Neon scene, and I'm hoping to learn a few new things and hope to maybe in time help new members.

I have a 05 Ninja 636 and a 99 3000GT vr4 so needless to say I have an addicition to going fast. I picked up a 2000 Neon about 2 weeks ago and since then I've threw a little bit of money into it. Wheels, coilovers, fart can (which is coming back off) and tossed a cone filter under the hood. The car has no power windows, locks or let alone a trunk release which kinda eats at me but I'm getting used to it. I just put a set of altezza tail lights on and ordered a set of chrome housing projector headlights. I'm planning on swapping it over to a 5 speed this spring. And the windows are getting blacked out this weekend so needless to say this car has gone and will under go a pretty intense transformation. I'm wanting to do a SRT4 front end conversion and like to swap out the exhaust for an srt exhaust or if all else just go back to stock. Anyways I've posted up some pics in the "show off" section so please let me knwo what you all think and I'm open to critisisim as well. Just be gentel lol

the mirrors are black now and the dumb windsheild wiper things are black now as well. The fart can like I said is coming back off and the windows will be blacked out this weekend. I also know I'll catch hell for the bra, but it's hiding some nasty rust so it's gotta stay till the hood gets repainted or I find another one.

Ok so I really hate asking this so please don't go irate on me for asking but how do I post something up for sale? I just picked up a new set of wheels and so I'm wanting to sell the maxxims I have pictured on my neon.

Also where exactly is my fuel pump? Can I gain access to it by removing the back seat cushion?

Thanks guys and I apologize for the questions...

You need a minimum amount of posts before you can post in the for sale area. I think it is 20 or 30, but it could have changed since the last time I recall. However, these need legitimate posts and not just posts to build your count.

As far as the fuel pump, no, you can't access it from the back seat. It can be accessed from the rear passenger side. If you remove the wheel you will get a good idea of what you need to do to get at it. At least a partial (if not full) drop of the tank will be involved and you may need to lower the fuel level before 'cracking' open the tank. Search around here for a fuel pump install or a spoolboy mod and you will find pictures of the tank, fuel pump, etc.

Hey guys I have a quick question..... I'm at the junkyard right now and there's about 12 diff second gen neons here from es,sxt, to a couple rt's. My question is how hard is it to convert manual winwods to power? There's one that has everything needed and looks to be in prestin condition. Also will an sxt wing fit my neon without me having to make anymore holes on my trunk lid? Lastly I've found 2 sets of chrome hvac and shifter surrounds and a few "carbonfiber" are these in any kind of demand? Thanks guys it's friggin cold out here!!! Lol

If you get everything from the doors (including the wiring) and are comfortable wiring the fuse box yourself, go for it.

Also will an sxt wing fit my neon without me having to make anymore holes on my trunk lid? If you don't have a spoiler on your car, you will need to drill holes in your trunk.

If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...
