Side Mirror Text Removal?

Post by goaliehockey33 » Mon Dec 15, 2008 8:05 pm

Is it possible to buy some sort of solution/chemical that will remove the text "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear?"

My drivers side mirror doesn't have it, but my passenger side does. Can it be removed?

I looked this up a while ago because I wanted to replace it with my SXT stickers. They are pretty much etched in, not gonna happen. Thats what I remember.

Just go to a local glass place and have them cut you a new one. Place here only charges like $7 for a side mirror.

the reason only one has it is because the passenger side mirror has curved glass it in.. therefore cutting a new piece would probably be a bad idea

oh cmon im 18 and i know about MC hammer.... hes an icon for an incredibly mixxed up time in rap music!.... back on topic. i know on my f150 i used acetone, the lettering was also etched into the glass bit it made the lettring shiney, and therefore barely noticeable..... my 2cents is its worth the 3 bucks at your local hardware store to try the acetone.....

Have a sister or mom? Borrow their nail polish remover, its acetone.

Its free, so that means its at least worth a try.

it's etched into the backside of the glass, in the reflective layer. you cant remove it, sorry....

Just do what some SRT owners have done and put one on the driver side to match...theirs say i believe "Objects in mirror are slower than they appear"
