An officer stopped (to see what we were doing) and informed us that cars after a certain year (not sure what year it was) have a chicken wire style filter to block acces to the fuel tank.

Can anyone confirm this?
I am interested in this too. Before I go out and buy locking caps for all my cars. :)

I mentioned this in another post--either on this board or another--some guy in Brooklyn yesterday came back to his car and it was empty. He said he just arrived to like help his mother or whatever and whoever it was, stole the gas lol. It's sad.

Just curious, but why 93 instead of regular?
i know you are gonna like flame me for this...but my car runs alot better on 93 than it ever did on regular. some of you will say this is all in my head, but its not, it drives so much better w/ premium than w/ regular. ill never put regular in it again, no matter how much gas costs. i mean its gonna be at least $3 a gallon anyways...why not spend the extra 20 cents or so and get the good stuff?

<rant on... kinda>

I just have a question for all of the people on here from overseas or in Canada, just anywhere but the USA. We as a country are spoiled when it comes to gas prices, most of us realize that many other countries are paying far more than we're still paying and we're the ones already bitching about the prices. My question for everyone else... how much have gas prices risen? I'm not talking the hurricane price hike... I'm talkin overall over the past years? If they have risen as much as they have here or more... does everyone there bitch as much about it as us Americans do?

Thats the question that's been on my mind the past week or so since all I hear at work, on the bus going to and from work... basically EVERYWHERE. "Gas prices are too high and I have to fill up my SUV twice a week... blah blah blah." Makes me wonder since I've been taking the bus to work for several months now since it's cheaper and easier... hell I used to fillup the Neon once a week, now I drive a truck to the stop and only fillup probably once a month... so I cut a $162.00 gas bill down to about $44 then add ontop of that the bus fair which is about $40 a month... that's almost cut in half and you know what... for the 30min ride to and from work... I can read a book, newpaper, talk to other people on the bus or just take a quick nap.

I dunno... I work in the city and hearing people bitch when they have several ways to cut their expences down doesn't really add up. This is just what I observe... yeah this isn't true for everyone out there but you get the idea.

I just spent 30 euro for 20 liters.

That's $37.62 for 7.92 gallons.

So gas in Germany is $4.75 a gallon.

I have no complaints, it's worth the medeival/modern scenery.

I would love to know where u heard that from cause that is a all out lie. I live in Louisiana and am in direct effect of the gas yet it has gone up from 2.48-2.58 in the past 2 weeks. All these gas prices are thanx to what we swamp folk call price gouging...not sure what u might call it :wink:

Gas won't go over 3.55 or so for regular and if it does then you are being ripped off. We actually have a shortage now unlike the reason gas has gone up so much in the past year. They are working right now on getting exxonmobile back up and the pipeline is fine as far as i know. All these oil companies are making record profits due to, not a shortage in product, but rather a shortage in production. Without enough refineries, which if u look back on when prices started going up, many were shut down due to the trre huggers and OPEC. They make the rules when it comes to these areas and who do u think is getting a nice piece of pie from the oil companies for making such strict requirements for facilitties???? Hmmmmm. The few stations around the US that raised prices a few days after the storm to 5 and 6.00 a gallon are being dealt with now and good riddens to them.

GAS WILL NOT BE 6.00 A GAL

Supply and demand, my friends. Rumors are making people go out and fill up... It takes away BIG time... Which in turn means they need to produce it faster. They raise the prices and make more money. Now let's all go out and fill up at the cheapest gas station! :roll:

you got the engine accustemed to to premium... so it will run shitty on regular gas....... at least untill it gets used to it. same thin happened to my rodeo that i had... i kept alternating between premium and regular, would fill up every time my tank was at half.... then whent to using regular twice premium once... until she was happy with regular.
