Dust in my taillights...?

Post by love_my_03_neon » Sun Dec 28, 2008 3:30 pm

Okay, most of you don't know that I used to live in Montucky and its REALLY dusty and dirty there in the summer when its dry, and my taillights have dust in them from the dirt roads. Anyone know how to get them apart to clean them?

I don't *think* this method will work on a 2nd gen tailight....(only on 1st gen ??) but I could be mistaken ?

Are you speaking from experience ?? Please let us know....I hope you are right !!

If that don't work, buy some gaskets (like $10 for the pair). Remove them, put some soapy water in them and slosh it around for a bit. Rinse well, then blow dry them with compressed air. Then apply the new gaskets and reinstall. I have done this with success on Shadow taillights.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.

Of course i know from exp, if i didnt i wouldnt be saying it.

For the oven, all u need is a pizza pan or something like it.Put it on 450 degrees let it heat up put the TL in the oven for 2 min and take it out and start pullin. CAUTION: u might need some gloves cuz it will be hot.

For the heat gun, well its very simple just heat up where the glue is and start pullin.

Good information to know.... Thank you !! :D
I'll have to experiment on a junkyard pair.

Occasional probably has the best suggestion.
Blowing air from a compressor will remove most of the dust. Washing would be even better.
