help choose my new front end!

Post by slaw » Mon Jan 05, 2009 3:47 pm

alright everyone i need some input
i barrowed a buncha pics off this site for examples, hope u guys dont mind
basically im going to be doing a change up on my front end
currently i have the full striker kit from ait racing on my car, however my front end has alot of damage so im going to need a new bumper
i was also planning on purchasing projector headlights so im not really tied down to sticking with a 03-05 bumper
id like to go with chrome housing projectors however
heres what my last years set up was

Image
Image

and here's what i was planning on doing, but after some thinking im reconsidering seeing as i dont have the matching motor
Stock SRT4 front bumper
Image

and then my next choice which is harder to find
SRT-Design front bumper
Image
id also have to get the mopar front lip for this bumper

and my latest consideration would be doing an 01-02 front end with a molded civic lip
Image
however id like to get a dodge grill instead of the chrysler one
like this

thanks

:withstupid:

02 w/civic lip is pure sex. The only drawback to that choice is you need to get different headlamps. For the other choices you wouldn't have to.

Oh, and thanks for using my car for a comparison

no problem holmes!
urs was the only 02 style i could think of with a dodge grill of the top of my head
the 00-02 style lights are only 10$ difference than the 03-05s i was gonna get anyway so its not a big deal
i can get an unpainted srt4 bumper for 300 bones new, and it would kill my hood gap, but the 02 gap isnt so bad
only downfall is id have to get fogs or fog deletes, and a grill
but i can get the bumper for around 120 on ebay and get it sprayed with the lip for 200

I really like that 02 front w/ that civic lip. Although i must say i dont think u can go wrong w/ any of those possible choices.

ugh, call it something else. This forum has banned the word Civic. Unless it's in the Street Racing section on cars you pwned.

all front ends you picked are good choices (except srt4). the problem is the rest of your body kit.... i don't think any would frow well with it. my suggestion would be to stay with what you have.

That is true. I didn't even think about the other body parts.

I think either the 01-02 acr / rt is the best or a regular 02 with a lip...I like it because it looks really good, its simple, and basically OEM....not some crazy bodykit. The SRT bumper is cool but unless its atleast boosted then..no. Its just a copy cat.

LOL..I don't know if that made any sense but I just think the 02 retains the neons dignity...because why try to make it look like somethin else when its still a neon..

SRT-D aren't bad but they are hella hard to find and without a lip they look funny.

i see everyones points
and the srt is the only thing that would be similar however i dont want to go that way with a NA 2.0
the front end i have is pretty beat up and i HATE that its fiberglass and cheap fiberglass at that
i might get the duraflex version and just keep it all the striker
anyone have any experience with duraflex?

truth. I'm not a fan of that kit at all, but I don't think any of the other fronts will match with the rest of the car being kitted.

I saw you posted on there. Why don't you consider that one? At least just buy the front bumper new or whatever.

i was trying to talk the guy into just selling me the front bumper but no go
he wants the whole thing gone which i understand
but if i bought the whole thing I would have to deal with trying to get rid of the rest of the kit that i dont need, so i figured id let someone else have a shot at it, and if no one bites maybe ill take it off his hands

You don't have an SRT-4, or any sort of modification done to the engine, so you'll just get laughed at if you get the SRT-4 front fascia, even though it's the best looking. SRT-D just looks dumb. The 01RT front looks sweet, especially with the extra front lip.
