sub enclosure question
Ok well today water dripped onto my spare tire cover so now I have an excuse to give to the wife to make a custom enclosure. I am wanting to take out the useless donut and put my subwoofer there. So pretty much in a nutshell here is what I want to do.
I want to built a subwoofer enclosure for my 12" kenwood sub. I want the enclosure to fit inside the spare tire well, and then I want to put a peice of fiberglass over that. The fiberglass will act as a cover that way I can still have full function of my trunk.
So my question is, has anyone done this? I do not know what the best way to go about this is. Build a sqaure box but cut the top of the box larger to match the shape of the well?
If anyone can help me out with this I would appreciate it.

If I say hi to you, will you go the f*** away?
basically, your supposed to build somewhat of a box inside the hole. reason for this is to have the right amount of airspace. you could probably get away with just doing the sides of the box and use the base of the trunk as the base for the box.

So you want to put your 12 in the spare tire hole.
If this is right you will have to fiberglass the hole, you can just lay down some paper foil and make sure its nice and straight with no lumps or bumps then drop some resin and then throw some fiberglass on top and let dry, do about 2-3 layers. Secondly the top of the box will have to be made out of MDF, so when your fiberglassed hole is dry.. get any old rag and stretch it over the MDF board with the sub hole cutout already and brush the whole thing with resin and then let dry and then your spare tire hole box is done!
Try and glass in the hottest part of the day.

I want something similar to that. Basically picture the trunk...and the sub setting in the middle. Except over the sub I want to put a piece of plexiglass over it making it even with my trunk. That way it looks clean and still have all access to my trunk.

That Q-Logic is for a 10" only. I considered building a frame to form fit an enclosure of matte and resin. It is entirely possible to build an enclosure to blend in to your trunk. Start with a pattern of cardboard, then work out some kind of a frame from the pattern. then several layers of fiberglass. If you like, you could get fancy and entertain the groceries with a plexiglass face and lighting like you mentioned before. Fiberglass is a lot of work, good luck.
