as a lexus sales person u are talking about the 07 08 09 rx350 and they are 4500k hids the projectors lens have a color change, varies on witch way u are looking at it sometime purple sometimes blue and up close deff white, its made that way to improve driving in any weather condition was the yellow tint improves futher vision, purple is manly used and rain by going past the water and not reflecting back and blue fog weather. now this is a oem halogen bulb witch mean theres nothing they can do,its dot aproved and wont blind when behind someone, thats why many people retro fit their light and not buy the aftermarket projectors many ppl get pulled over down in the miami area for it!!!

On the ticket, what article number or code did you violate? Check the wording of the law before you take it to court. No sense in pleading not guilty if it says it right there that in the law that yellow is not permitted.

Also, take the bulb out and see if its stamped DOT and SAE
