Trading spoilers between Germany and USA

Post by Jenni » Tue Jan 27, 2009 9:25 am

I have a SRT and Sykora has a SXT.
I wanna have his spoiler and he wanna have mine.
Easiest way - a direct trade.
But how? Beetween Germany and USA?
Okay - we found a way to ship it and this off topic thread will be our way to show eachother that we don't wanna scam.
So we will make pictures and post them here to see how long it takes and what happens.

The post way is far complicated:

From me to a friend and with army post to Sykora.
And the other way from Sykora to army post office to my friend in Germany to me...

Okay guys - let's hope that nothing comes in between...

My photolog:
http://picasaweb.google.de/LegomanBerlin/Spoilertausch

Spoiler is now off the car and ready to go into a box. I will not send the screw nuts. Too small - afraid to lose them...
Hope the screws will not break - will look for rubberfoam.

me too, I can't wait to see both you guys get the spoilers on your cars.

Just wondering, if one of you guyts do scam, then what can the forum or anyone do about it? lol

I might have to start one of these threads soon since I'm trading my RT skirts with contagious18 for his SRT skirts in the near future.

Unfortunately (for those involved, but fortunately for the forum) the forum can not do anything about it. The forum is just an atmosphere for the transaction, like craigslist is. So there is nothing that the forum can do.

We do have a feedback system in place and if three negative feedbacks are left for a user in a few month time span then the user is banned.

Yeah - is more for the fun, to make it public and to see what happens (outside the PN system).
Btw: The Mummie is finished (used 2000 miles tape...) - and in the packet are 1000 newspapers from Germany...

Jenni. Sorry for taking so long to write back- AH! There was soo much to do yesterday. Indianapolis got a TON of snow and I finally got my car out this morning. I wrapped up the spoiler real good and am taking it to the post office as we speak (USPS apparently is the only one who can ship to APOs.) Anyways, I will post pictures when I get back (including me with it at the post office) hehe. I was stupid and re-installed vista last night and can't get on the internet from my laptio. I'm using a friend's mac (hmmm) Anyways, I also won't be sending the screws either ('cause then I wouldn't have any either hehe.) Thanks for your patience.

The APO system is a part of the USPS I believe, so yeah you can only ship to APO's through USPS.

It's in the post and on the way to my buddy. 27 Euro (~35 $) for shipment just in Germany. Puuuh - Don't wanna know what they ask for regular shipment to the states (and if it should not take years)...

^^ yep. I was able to put yours on priority, but I'm not sure how long the Army takes to ship it once they receive it.

By putting it on priority it won't sit around waiting for a space on the truck/boat/plane. especially since its a big box, that is important

if you were to send it first class (iirc) it could take a while.

My buddie told me that he received the spoiler "what a huge box" and will forward it tomorrow (on monday).
Dammit the SRT looks naked without the spoiler!
