Gas stations now have 10% ethanol in gas in my area...
lol you all have no idea do you? Lexus is damn near the best. you guys just dont understand that this takes place over a LONG period of time. lol. and if you dont know what your talking about and all the details. then dont say anything. lol.
they went to a new engine manf. in 2006. so its not Leuxs, its all the GR motors and the GR motor company said it was ok. now makes Lexus look bad.
direct injection is fairly new to the automotive feild (mass production). its just because the very very high pressure. most of the ones i take apart look perfect. it takes years for this to happen and even when it does...its just white powder thats really light.
and at least Toyota/Lexus doesnt have to ask for money...
dont knock Leuxs, or i will pull up to you in my 1st gen GS...2jz na-t. bring it srt. hahaha all in good fun.

you are kidding me right?
Just because direct injection is newish doesn't give it an excuse to not handle the fuel that has been getting phased in for a number of years. And yes it is Lexus' fault for picking a subpar engine manufacturer. And yes, they are subpar because that obviously couldn't meet the needs of the American automobile market.

lol we are not an american automoitve company. we are trying different/better things. shit will happen. the GR motor is far more efficient than most. and for pushing to be the best. there will be set backs. but in the end. its all worth it. the GR motor is not subpar. give it a few years to fix all the small problems that will only appear in time. you will see lol. read up on it. its very different than what your probly use to.

its subpar if there has to be a recall imo.
and it doesn't matter if they aren't built in America. If you want to sell in America you better be able to use our gas.
Plus, Lexus = overpriced toyota. I'll keep my Chevy and my Dodge

Even GM figured out direct injection that doesn't fail with ethanol.
And sure, Toyota isn't part of the bailout package. But how much money over the years has the Japanese government pumped into that company?

I'm not sure I'd call Lexus high-end. They sell overpriced Toyotas. Granted, a Lexus is a step-up in luxury from my Neon, but...Yeah. Lexus is the new Caddy, which wasn't really that luxurious to begin with.occasional demons wrote:racer12306 wrote:no, you have to change them because the engineers were too stupid to use the right metal the first time. I can't believe a high end manufacturer would make such a blunder. But hey, they looked pretty on the outside!
If they had annodized them, they prolly would have held up. Would it have increased cost? In hind sight, no.
