00-02 Fogs. Aftermarket?

Post by BlueBaron » Sun Feb 01, 2009 11:02 pm

Does anyone make aftermarket fog lamps for the 00-02 Neons?

I mean ones that fit the factory opening just like stock ones.

depo made them, i think past tense. the last time i looked at their product line they did not have them listed anymore..

i have a set of depo ones and the chrome reflective material is all peeled off... junk.

but aftermarket or oem you are pretty much going to pay the same price... so...

Someone needs to make some OEM fit projector fogs for the 00-02. You could do some pretty sweet things with all that unused space on the sides there, like put in some LEDs like the headlights, or a little turn signal or something. I suppose the fogs are to small to retrofit anything into them?

Did you niteshade your fogs? (looking at sig) For mine I taped off the part where the light actually comes out and painted the rest black, so they looked a little better with the black headlights. You can kind of see the one in this picture. It should get bigger if you click it.

Did you paint the lens or the housing? I did my housing just like that when I had mine apart a couple of years ago so that they matched my Racoons

I painted the actual clear plastic lens, used Krylon Fusion, I really like that stuff. I painted the grille piece with it too. I thought about painting like the actual reflector, but I talked to a guy who did that, and his lenses never stayed on again, like they'd fall off and he'd run over them. Plus I didn't feel like taking them off. So far it's held up great, I put on a ton of layers.

Thanks for posting supermike. I was torn about which way to go with mine.

I'll try to get a better picture or two tomorrow.

Edit: I just had another idea... could you tape them off like I did, then use niteshade instead of paint? It would give it a little different look than paint, and might be more durable than paint, even though I haven't had any problems yet (I think it's been around 5 or 6 months). Then you could take the tape off and do a light layer over the whole thing if you didn't want anything to be completely clear... Just a thought...
