how did colant get into my oil

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

There are a few ways, but a bad head gasket would be the most common way.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Considering the other options, pray that it is the HG.
Or some ass clown putting coolant in the wrong fill hole. :shock:
Then proving it, and eliminating all the other options would be as bad/worse as just changing the HG.
Definately have the head and deck checked out before reinstalling tho.
