Love it. Love every single god damn thing about it, you have no idea. For the record, I'd take that over ANY 10 second car. 4x4 wins over all

Dad told me if I bought a mudding truck, I can keep it at their place.

i may just have to find me something to go play in the mud with.

When I get out and move back home and I am settled in my house.. it will be time to purchase an old fox body mustang for a project.

I'll have both though... (2 car garage = 2 toys :D)

Samurai and Sidekick are different...

I don't know of too many 4 door Samurais as it's custom done...I'm guessing it's a sidekick...

Bought a spare tire yesterday...

It's just a 31" regular ole' tire on a black steel wheel... but it'll do to get me off the trail if one of my tires breaks a bead or pops...

I bought a black spare tire cover for it so I wont have a wussy ass tire on the tail gate showing :D (when I buy an oem spare tire mount for my tail gate)

Ordered an 2 5/8" Autometer Oil Pressure gauge as well.. it'll go in one of my a/c vents.

I got a head gasket coming in too...that way I can take the head off and see if it's a piston/ring issue or a valve issue I am having in cylinder #2...

I still have to weld up my shock mounts and order shocks....and weld up my new exhaust.... AND install my gears w/ rear spool.

It's never ending...

Houston we have a problem....

Easier fix then fkd up rings though!... that's the one that has 30 compression. Let's hope that's the fix and the rings are fine.

Is that a cracked valve?

mmmmhm...

Just so happens to be the cylinder that's getting crap compression.

Who'da thunk...

I'm hoping it's the valve causing that and not a worn ring... Piston looks fine on the top side though.

Well, I imagine that would probably cause a small drop in compression... haha.

Time for some head work, maybe a p&p and...

If you're redoing it, may as well make the truck a bit more powerful tho!

I snagged the spare motor today (free)... has 2 holes in the block but the head is good. I'll be using the head for mine or just stealing valves from it... We'll see...

I also bought a pair of stock axles (with lockrite lockers in both) The lockrites cost $200 new... so that's $400 in lockers... + the spare axles and what not I got... all for $100 :)

I'll sell off one locker and use one. (already got a spool for the rear of mine)

It's been a bit since I've updated...

Since the last update.....

I went to the junkyard and stole a water reservoir and pumps from a Jeep Cherokee. (has 2 pumps for the squirters -1 for the rear 1 for the front). I hooked it up in the zuk and put both pumps to my front windshield washer nozzles... So basically I have a pressure washer of water on my windshield when wanted :D

I got the front shocks mounted today.... (new mounts upper and lower welded up)

Dropped the Transfer case to find out where its leaking fluid from.. (a few loose bolts)

Found out my rear axle is bent...

See pics below:

Image

Hard to tell... look at this one :)

Image

I got a spare axle housing from the last update I posted... I'll finally toss my spool (locker) and 5.12 gears in it... transfer my brakes and axles over to it... and throw it in... (HOPEFULLY thatll get done tomorrow)

We'll see....

Looking good!! Wish I still had mine. If I ever get another one I want a long wheel base. They did have 4 door zuks but they were mainly overseas. Have you thought of doing a TDI swap?

Thought about it then said fk that... it's probably 4k + to do it...

I'll pass :D

The wheel base on mine is stretched just slightly... 4".... I might move the rear axle back another inch or so...

New rear axle is in.... 5.12s + spool is in the rear as well.

Front 5.12s + locker is setup just gotta toss it in.

Front shocks are mounted...

Still need draw up how I am going to mount the rear shocks.

I started modifying my bumper today... I had the box front bumper look. So I angled it and using the excess metal I have and gonna weld the end caps back on.

No actual pictuers but a photochopped pic showing you what I am talking about.

I'll get real pictures tomorrow probably.

Image

Main reason is I got tired of trying to put my tire on something and hitting my bumper first.

:D

I'll get some 2" circle turn signals up front and mounted later.
