Thinking of getting a 05 SXT fully loaded
Thinking of getting a 05 SXT fully loaded
My parents drove by the local dodge dealership, and they saw a beautiful 05 SXT. They told me that this had everything, power everything, and a 4 speed automatic. They are now thinking of trading in my 2000 3 speed auto for that, but i have a few questions:
1) They were told that the car was being sold for 16000. SHould I talk them down more?
2) I know its got the 4 speed. Will it give me better fuel economy that the 3 speed i have now because of its extra gear?
3) I will mod it. Because of the NGC thing, will it respond well to my mods?
I think i should buy it, as it is a great improvement over my current neon that is a really base model, no power windows, no power locks. But it has 03 SXT wheels and a brand new JVC CD HU.
I think that its a good deal. I might go for it.
whats your guys opinion?
John

If you ever have a choice, go with MTX. Unfortunately for me, I didn't, and was presented with an ATX.
Are the wheels and audio the only things you've done to it? I was strongly considering getting rid of my current '00 for something else, but after all I've done to it, I feel kinda attached to it lol Then again, if I could get a Murcielago for it, I wouldn't think twice
It's up to you.

The only neons that are manual at every dodge dealer is the SRT-4's
I am not the only one that drives the car. If my sis knew how to drive a mtx, we would get one.

not really, the '06's aren't on sale yetscneonchic501 wrote:16k seems kinda high for a neon, even for an 05,esp considering that the last of the 05s are sitting on dealer lots and you would think they are trying to get rid of them.....just my 2cents though

2005 is the last year for all the Neons and the Neon SRT-4's. There will be no 2006's of any Neon related vehicle. Also, all Magnums and Chargers are 2006's. They have been out for months. Just the rest of the 2006 Dodge's are not out yet. I'd say within a month you will see all the 2006's.linkinevo wrote:there wont be, but because the 06 modle year cars havent showed up for Dodge, dealerships have no reason to move the 05's off the lot (well very fast anyway)scneonchic501 wrote:there are no 06s...not to my knowledge at least...i thought this was the last year for neons and one more year for srt4s if im not mistaken?

UPDATE:
Well, it looks like I wont be getting one. Right now, my parents dont have the money for the payments. I am kinda glad though, because I kinda grew attached to it.
The only thing that I absolutely hate about my car? Not an MTX.

Yes the Magnums and the 300's were avaliable as 2005's, but the 2005 model year for them ended when the Charger came out. All the LX based vehicle for 2006 came out at the same time.

mmmm HEMI variable displacment that can get 25mpg and puts out 345hp....sorry no emoticon that shows something goin...boing
I borrowed an 05 magnum hemi for a weekend from work....
I averaged 22-25mpg with the A/C on steady cruising from 55-65mph for 20 miles. When I got into it, it averaged 8mpg...
Lets say the magnum is peed limited way to low! I saw well over 120mph faster than I expected in it! It emabarrased a 70 chevy nova with a modded 350. And ate a mid 90's saleen mustang for lunch....
Not bad for a station wagon. I can't wait until the 400+hp 6.1's come out!!! SORRY, got a lil off topic....
