So I said goodbye to my Neon today for a new replacement.
I know it's not quite the Neon but it's the closest thing I find that I could also enjoy.
They're the lame dealer pics but I'm still charging up the camera so I could get some new pics of my own.
It's the basic SS model so nothing fancy. At least it's got 2.4 liter lol.
Got it for a good low price. It's weird how I sit a little higher now

Congrats Noel
Should make for a great driver. The ecotecs that come in those are tanks.

Thanks! The engine is so smooth. The neon felt like falling apart but she was such a good car to me too.
It's gonna take a little bit of getting used to.
Frank, get the TC version. We can race then I'll still lose lol.

I have no plans of getting a new car for myself. My fiance will be driving a new Caliber by the end of the year, hopefully by the end of the summer.
I was just goofing around driving those cars.
With a little luck the Monte will be on the road by May and the Neon will be put up for sale once I get to that point.

I have no plan of getting new cars yet, used ones work for me anytime.
Based on those pics from the ones I drew, your Monte's got a lot of potential.
Either way, I'll still lose in a quarter mile lolz. The Caliber was ok but the Balt was way cheaper. Internet pricing ftw.

The Caliber fits our future better than a Cobalt does. They are good reliable cars, but a Caliber just has more space. I'm going to see if I can get her to test drive a Mazda 3 and see if she likes those. They look lower sitting than the Caliber, but she wants the height. It makes it easier to get kids in and out of the car.

Get the rt version. AWD would be really nice for winter time.
There was an rt where I went to but I cringed at the price, it was just out of my reach. Overall it looked nice though, it's really a mini crossover sort of deal.
Poor Neon though, I wonder where she's gonna end up. I had her for almost 6 years then she's gone

Thanks Opi, I'm gonna love this thing. I'm excited about driving at the twisties tomorrow, some hilly driving route.
I knew by the time I finished the test drive, there's no way I'm gonna let it go, even if it means having to work weekends again to pay it off
I still find it strange how it sits higher than the Neon.

I'd love to but if I sit any lower, I'm gonna hit the driveway.

It's a bit steep.
So, how much are you looking for?

Word of advice though: don't trade in your car at a stealership, they won't give you much.

Try to sell it personally if possible to get the money in return you're looking for.
I learned that yesterday. I lolled out loud when he showed me my car's trade-in value.

Oh yeah, trade in is ridiculous! I was interested in trading my Neon in last winter/spring and they offered me 2K for it! And that was before my accident!

Oh man, I consider you lucky to even have a big appraisal like that.
And yes, mine was appraised way lower than 2k so I'm not even gonna bother mentioning it, it was sad.

Mine is an 04, so it SHOULD be worth more than an 01, but still! I owed 10K on it at the time (I got raped on my finance rate) so there's no way I'm going 8K upside down for a new car.
So I still have the Mistress for now.

It's a 2006, a plain Jane Cobalt SS.
I'm gonna try to get some pics done later on this week if time allows. Working night and day sucks.
I have no user manual so I don't know how to adjust the seat yet lol.

Here's some more lame pics I just took after work. I fail at photography lol.
Engine Bay. Completely stock in and out.
No gauge at the A pillar? It is NA so no supercharger or turbo... for now.
This shot sucks:

It seems like most modern cars these days have those big ass plastic covers on top of the engine. Kinda lame and wasteful.
Yeah man I was dead tired and just grabbed the camera.
On that last shot I just realized the front wheels have a slight negative camber angle. I wonder if they came like that since it's good for cornering...

Its a sound deadening device. Doesn't help much, just enough to make a difference in the NVH category.
