technically i paid $180 shipped but it really didn't cost me a thing. i sold a bunch of equipment over the last few weeks and made a slight profit on each piece, so it offset the cost.

i had a pair of 10" type-r subs i just sold actually. they were wonderful but this is my dd and i needed more trunk space. i was giving them 600+ each and didn't want to drop the power so i swapped to a single 12" X. now i need that pdx 1.1000...

Postman left them unattended on your doorstep? Not bad...

gated community with only a handful of houses here. not too worried about it being stolen, and it was the ups guy not the postman. ups people generally suck.

Should sound pretty sexy.

I almost bought one a while back. I have no complaints with alpine products..outside of not having the X in a 15.

the 12 is more than enough. put a pair on 1000-1500rms each in a giant ported box and go to town. if done correctly you can get even more 'boom' out of the type-r subs. some call the x a sq sub and swear by a sealed enclosure. some say it is a spl beast and run it in a big ported box.

i can't decide so i am going to do both. i am gonna build a sealed corner fg box in the spring, and make some sort of an amp rack as well. for now i think i will put them along the left side wall between the sub (rear corner) and the rear seats.

i am also going to buy a 2cft ported box tuned to 35 from a guy who lives about an hour and a half from me. he really builds some quality boxes and is willing to drive half way to meet me. he quoted me $100 for the specs above, with a kerfed port, no carpeting. i will still have to build something to put the amps on so i will just make some sort of a beauty panel for them and the sub/port.

install is 95% completed, i just have to build a small amp rack. for now i have them mounted to some scrap mdf with velco on the bottom to stop them from moving around. i upgraded the big3+ from 4g to 1/0, power wires as well, new sub and a new box. box is 2.4cf tuned to 34hz with a kerf port.

this shit is loud as hell. haven't fully tuned the system yet but it sounds amazing. super clean sound and tons of boom when i want it.

finally got off my ass and built the amp rack this past weekend. wrapped it and mounted the amps, ran all the wires and got everything in place tonight. it's about 95% completed now, i just have to make 2 small trim pieces for the bottom sides where the wires enter the box. other than that i just need to give them a good cleaning to get all my dirty fingerprints off.

it's built to the same size as the box for width and height. drilled a hole in the back and ran the wires to the sub through it so they sit flush together inside the trunk.

Dude fold the small part of the backseat down. it gives it that much more boom. the seats muffle it A LOT

everything but the hu is alpine. spx-177r, spr-69c, pdx 4.100, pdx 1.1000.

i don't need to fold down the seats. the sub has way more power than i need already. i plan on doing a little competing this year in dbdrag so for those events i will dial up the amp and lower the seats but not for daily driving.
