Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

There isn't much you could do that wouldn't be tacky or look even worse. Get an SRT fascia?...

haha good for you. You might have to live with the gap. I don't do bodywork but I'd say your SOL as far as an easy fix goes.

what makes that gap anyways? Could he just modify the hood latch to allow the hood to drop more?

To me, i see that gap alot on people's neons but I really don't notice it that much. It's not that bad of a gap really. I wouldn't worry about it.

the gap is because the srt hood isnt as long as a non srt hood....on srt's their front facia is taller and makes up for the shorter hood where our front facias do not....its only like an inch gap realy no bid deal

and if you drop the hood more it will just through the rest of the alignment all out of wack! id rather have the gap...

huh ok. Well I heard someone was going to just use a long rubber gasket to at least close their gap but I don't know of any other way to make it smaller.

Gap isn't bad at all. You can't do anything to the bumper cover, because it will get in the way of the hood release.

That looks like someone took an inch wide black permanent marker and drew on your car...

I wondered about this too, but short of modifying the bumper itself, I don't see any way around the gap.

SRT-D bumper perhaps?

I made a thing out of a plastic pipe and some screws, fits tight and seals well, most ppl dont notice it unless its pointed out. not the nicest looking but gets the job done.

Meh, it was my second attempt and I.M.O anytihing was better than gap, plus anyone could open the hood with the latch sittin right there starring you in the face, and thats just a temp so i could put the hood on for the summer, im going to mock up a cf bar with yellow and chrome inserts so that it matches the hood and bumper

They can't open the hood unless they have access to the hood latch cable, which they can't get to through that gap, as "big" as it may be.
