orangeneon05, if the one from Modern was aluminum, it prolly corroded in there, and seized. Some antiseize may have helped future removal. But this advice only helps those looking to install an aluminum antenna. If the threaded part is stainless steel, be prepared for your life to suck drilling it out. Stainless is a pain to machine, and that is a small diameter "screw", so there is little room for error, and the easyout needed will be small and fragile. If you snap it off in a blind hole, you are done.

Be glad they didn't start calling you "Righty", and inviting you for a nature walk.iThane wrote:

probably the only thing i can remember from my one week
experience in boy scouts. i soon realized that i was surrounded
by a bunch of tree hugging gospel singers so i bailed as soon as
i could..

tried heating mine. had it on a flame until it was hot enough to feel the heat from about three inches away and still nothing. its currently at 14 inches long right in the middle of the suggested 13-15. quality is not bad just cuts out to nothing at all alot. i personally do not listen to the radio much so does not bother me. probably going to end up buying a shorty or seeing if i can rig one of the "laid back" antennae you normally see on the newer cars.

If they won't understand it anyways, just do it and show them your stock antenna being busted as the reason why you did it that way.
tell them it was cheaper to do that than to fix the one you have now.

agreed. im trying to look into finding them now. will have ot look after work though. if i can manage it i would end up putting it where the stock one was that way less holes in the car.TheRandom1 wrote:I really wanted one of those shark fin antennas like the BMWs have.
