Projector Fogs: Demon eye mod

Post by LilSparkPlug » Sun Feb 22, 2009 9:16 pm

I believe I am the first to do this to these, but lots of people have done it in general over the years. I think it looks badass. I know alot of you may not be fond of pink, but well...I am.

The demon eye and the halo ring will be operated by different switches so I can choose one or both. These are my spring/summer/fall fogs so there are no pictures on the car as of yet.

Comments, questions, criticism whathaveyou...welcome

That's just an LED that won't be on when the HIDs are on. The demon eye will have a switch as will the halos. So two switches to turn them on/off at will. :)

Thats really neat! I think halos are starting to get played out, but the demon eye (city light to us former euro sl*ts) looks really awesome, and will look damn cool on your car!

If you have a projector in there, then yes you can. Otherwise it ends up being a "fishbowl" mod. I have plans for the new headlights that span FAR beyond these. :)

I thought about doing that one time. Kinda forgot about it.

But I will call and raise your bet of demon eyes with million color halos! Bwahaha.

Looks good as always!

Million color halos? Heck... why not million color DEMON EYES?

Is there anywhere I can find out how to do demon eyes, or did you just try it until you got it right?

I could do that too if I really wanted too. But I think with the million color halos that would look too tacky.

Yeah, both would definitely be a little bit too much. Unless you made sure you never had both on at the same time.

could you get a pic of the front of the car with the demon eyes on, maybe at 1/4 angle. I'm curious how they look from the front!

I'm not installing them into the car until spring. Too much sand, salt, snow, etc. on the roads. The lenses on these are made out of glass...so yeah.

Its not all that difficult to do, drill a hole in the projector housing and mount/secure the leds in the holes. Solder all the wires together and there you has it!

Yeah I like my pink halos, my underbodies will be million color.

I just finished installing mine and mounting up the bumper today (pics to follow). Now you got me worried about the salt and stuff! I actually thought the glass was pretty thick and was probably less likely to get damaged compared to the stock fogs. It's not like you need to worry about them scratching or pitting, but I guess a well placed rock would shatter them. It would need to be a pretty big fluke though.

Yeah there's lots of those around here which is why I have a winter setup for headlights and foglights. I also have OCD and freak out over this type of shit....another reason I have two front ends. LOL

I want to experiment with doing my Modern projectors with green demon eyes. Did you use pre-wired LEDs? Were did you get them if you did? I have some pre-wired ones laying around, but I'm fairly certain they wouldn't appreciate being in the weather at all. Also, do you think the heat from the headlight bulbs would shorten the life of the LEDs, even if they won't be on at the same time?
