key hole is dead
I dont' know if you call it like this I used google translator for this: barrel. It's actually in what the key enter and turn to unlock the trunk.
Well mind is dead du to rust and calcium. What can I do to change it. Can I buy a new one, or can I buy a new one and stay with the same key?
thannks for the answer

open your trunk, there is a u-shaped clip that holds it into the trunk, just like the side marker lights have on the front bumper. Take the lock out and fill it with wd-40, and let it sit for a few hours, try turning it after this, if that doesn't work, heat it with a torch for a few seconds and try again. I had this same problem at the start of winter, and heating it with some oil in it, fixed it right away. You will want to put the lock cylinder in a vice, or something that can hold it tight while you try to turn it with your key. Hope this helps, let me know if you have more questions

I'm thinking about doing that, but at the same time I'm not sure if I want the glovebox keyed to the car. I keep guns and such in there, and it's nice that if someone steals the car, they can't easily get to whatever I've got in the glovebox. Then again, I leave the key sticking out, and people hit their shins and knees on the damn thing. Last guy who sat in my front seat bent the damn thing, so I dunno.LilSparkPlug wrote:Just go to the junkyard and take a lock cylinder off any neon. Bring it to your dealership (who shouldn't charge you) or a locksmith with your key. They'll swap the tumblers out in less than 5 minutes so it will work for you. I just did it for my locking glove box two weeks or so ago.
