Not sure where to go guys...
well, now im done with the lowering and my exterior is done, ive done some light modding to the engine with bolt ons (exaust, magnum intake, cai)
but im not sure what to do... my options are thus....
tranny swap then
get a better head on my engine and get better internals and turbo the 2.0. ...
or...
swap for srt4 engine and all the crap that comes with it...
just not sure what I should really do! i kinda wanna keep my engine but im torn on what to save up. ive been talking to the guy that makes the turbo kits for our cars and whatnot but im still not sure on the best way to go about this...i kinda want a 2.0 that can b a DD and still beat an SRT

If you had an mtx I would say it might be worth it to put some pistons/rods and go from there, but not with the atx.
btw what is the turbo kit specs? will be pretty hard to take out a bolt on SRT

How much money do you have? Do you have a job to support the shit that WILL arise when you're swapping or building? Can you afford downtime?
I can tell you that it's not as easy as it looks. I have 2 cars and this shit is still affecting a LOT more than I thought it was going to.
3 motors, 2 sets of pistons, $8,000, 3 maxed out credit cards... I still haven't washed my hands of this car

Sorry, but I have to laugh at this. I was flying by em with my stock motor and just a 16g.Adionik wrote:btw what is the turbo kit specs? will be pretty hard to take out a bolt on SRT

And once again, comparing the tiny SRT-4 turbo to a big turbo...good job buddy

Since they alleviated the restriction of running low boost.
A 16g is by no means a big turbo, but that's not the point anyway. The point is that it's difficult. I've proven it's not. And I've let any secrets on how to do it out of the bag.
I don't like being called "buddy". To me, it's a nice way of saying "You have no idea what you're talking about, and I'm so much better than you that I'm just going to dismiss you." I've bit my tongue as you've spouted all over this forum like you are an expert, when time and time again, you have been blatantly wrong. You haven't been called out on it because the other members aren't sure of the answers either. I would recommend you take a step back and re-evaluate your place here, and learn more before being the resident expert here, and demeaning the people that are much better prepared to answer these questions than you are.
I'm stopping here. This thread isn't the place for a battle. Mods, feel free to delete any posts that don't apply to the OP's questions.

Not quite true. I personally avoid it to prevent a flame war. Like you, a lot of us keep quiet with certain members for the sake of keeping peace, when in reality there are several knowledgeable members on here contrary to popular belief.esteinmaier wrote:You haven't been called out on it because the other members aren't sure of the answers either.

I've seen some sick boosted 2.0 setups, some of which were pretty inexpensive. The srt swap is for cheaters
Needing a donor car seems a bit much for me, I'd rather pick up a cheap 2.0 and slowly build it up in the garage. Plus you can do those upgrades you would probably end up doing with the srt anyway, just a little cheaper with less work.

Meh, I say go and buy the turbo kit that eistenmaier developed and call it a day.
Then pull uo to the elite Neon (err, SRT) owner and flip out the
flag!

just stick with the 2.0
last thing you want to do is worry about disposing of another motor if you do the srt swap...

personally i like the idea of turboing the 2.0, it gives you more experience to do it yourself. And i think the 2.4t has too much torque for its own good. My buddies with big turbo setups on their srt's just spin through third.

[/quote]Yup it definately needs to go lower. If its not scrapeing constantly why you are driving then its not low enough bro.
