Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

I have a short one.. about 4 inches?... reception isn't THAT bad... then again... I used my CDs more often.. so reception isn't a big deal.

I say go for it, who listens to the radio these days! :)

I ripped my whole antenna assembly out long ago, and I still get reception here and there. Sometimes it's crystal clear too!

Get the shorty antenna. Reception won't be as good but time to upgrade in life anyways. its 2009. Cd player, Ipod etc. for the win. i have it and still listen to the radio every now and then. small sacrifice i think for a cheap upgrade and cosmetic look. up to you tho. some people think its worth it, some not.

Using vise grips or pliers you can take the ball off the stock antenna. Cut it down to desired height and put the ball back on.

Or....grab one of these:

For short range yes, if you're far away from the station no you won't get great reception with them. But they look so much better than stock.

The angle doesn't flatter my car, but it shows you the antenna:

I noticed a difference in reception, but nothing horrible, and I also live in an out of the way area... in the more populated areas I get good reception.

Mine is a ZZap, they don't make them anymore but it's the tiniest antenna I've ever seen. It's also Billet.

It looks like it's the same length as the Modern Performance one (mine).

Took a piece of aluminum bar stock and turned it to the right diamaters in a lathe, then cut threads on it. Then it screwed right in.

I'll measure it but it's about 2" not sure what the size on the Modern Performance one is.
