MTV Magnum Intake Wiring

Post by spencersummerfield » Thu Mar 05, 2009 6:06 pm

Well I received my mag intake courtesy of "bdmski" and I am will e installing it tomorrow finally when I bring the car out of storage.

The only downside to getting it was that the "prewiring" was messy and there was exposed wires, not to mention they were all the colour Blue and were not labeled.

It is a Harlan RPM, and ZEX WOT.

This is how it looked when I got it.

You can see my problem for install.
So I went to work doing what I do best "Wire Management" and this was the end result.

I followed the diagram provided in the forum, but I am still hesitant it is going to work.

The wiring the way it came was little interesting the trigger terminals were opposites on both relays so I hope it will work properly.
"bdmski" Had it wired "bye a shop" so I left it how it was and I hope it will work!!!!

Can anyone confirm that once a RPM switch is programmed I will not have to touch the programming, Her is a pic of the RPM Dip Switches!

IS the RPM SIGNAL wire from the Harlan GREEN? and it connects to any of the outer coil pack wires??

Can someone please check theirs and help me out!!!

is that harlan board on all magnum intakes? if so then i take it you can mess with when the butterflies will open. As i would think those switches are the RPM rage that they will currently open up at.

harlan engineering is the company that makes this Rpm Window Switch, And no, the factory r/t pcm controls where the manifold opens.

first off, green is the rpm signal wire, connects to the black with grey wire on the coil connector.
I'll have to look at my setup once its brighter out and see what is what. Msg me on msn and I'll scan and send you the paperwork that comes with the switch, explaining how to use it/set it.

And in answer to your question, once you set it, you never have to touch it. Even if you unhook the battery! So far it's been excellent, the guy who made them really knew what he was doing.

Hey gill, I was able to find the wiring for the rpm switch finally on Harlan engenering's web site. They really know what they are doing this thing has so many uses!

Which of the tps wires should I use to connect the WOT wire too?

Black with Grey stripe on the coilpack connector, will give you an accurate tach reading. Just make sure you connect the whole setup to switched power, so that it's only powered up when the car is turned on, otherwise it may kill your battery. Not sure where you set yours to open so far, but i've got mine at 4500 and like it best there. Let me know if you have any other Q's dude.

oh shit tps wires sorry man i was talking about the coil pack connector. Well, i'm not 100% sure which tps wire you hook that too, you would have to look at the fsm and see which wire displays 0-5 volts depending on tps position.
