Weird CAI Problem and Question

Post by Mopar65 » Mon Mar 16, 2009 9:34 pm

I have an AEM CAI on my 2003 SXT. My SRT front bumper hits the filter because of the foglight brackets and although I can move it underneath that bracket it still pushes out the inner wheel well splash guard. So my question is what is the best way to fix this? Can I cut into the splah guard so that the curve of the CAI tube fits into the cut piece of the splash guard in order to fit. As of now I cannot attach the splash guard to the car and it makes one side flare out while the other is not. Thanks for the help.

Sorry Frank wasn't a 100% on where to put this so I figured off topic was the best

are you willing to part with your fog lights? It sounds like if you remove them altogether (or at least the drivers side but that would look dumb with one fog light) you would have room for your CAI, not to mention a hole in which air would pass through straight to your filter.

It actually is not affectected by the foglights it slides right under the bracket, it just doesn't fit :tardbang:

I bent the bracket that connects to the battery tray so the whole intake was lifted up some. this also helped with the foghorn sound I used to get. The intake may still touch your inner fender liner but it shouldn't be as bad.
