The guy is asking 7000$ CAD so about $5500USD.

He says there's some bodywork to do. The car as between 50k and 60k KMs so that's around 30k to 37k miles. It isn't stated exactly so I guess it's his DD.

And, wtf happened with the hood? It seems to have the 2000-2002 rear-end also.

Give me a list of questions to ask the seller?

Forget about asking the seller questions... if he has something to hide he will not be honest.

Give it the once over yourself... and if a few hours after that you are still interested ask the seller if he will allow you to take it to a mechanic for the once over.

If the seller does not agree to that walk away.

If the seller agrees then proceed based on what the mechanic says.

If you can... get an oil analysis done.

^x2 it seems like he does have something to hide and there is somw weird shit with that car. He probably got rearend and went the cheap way with replacing the rear with older stuff, the sideskirts look off, and why is the passenger door handle black??? Just make sure you go through it very well. Looking at it again Im going to say that it has been hit in the front passenger side as a guess because of the spare and the different headlight and the different door off of an SE Neon

Yeaaaah I would definately go over the car yourself. Seeing as how there is A LOT of mismatched parts on that car (notice the different doors?). And take it to a mechanic to look it over before you buy it.

Is that an SRT-4 or just a regular neon?

Seems like an SRT because of all the SRT parts like the leather wrapped wheel, seats, the shifter, the speedo, the pedals, the exhaust, the intercooler, etc. Just my .02

Looks like he was trying to make it look similar to the Viper with the hood and the rear.

screamingneon could you give me more info on the wreck? Like where it was hit and all.

Because hell, for 7k if the engine and powertrain is in good condition with all the parts and wiring, it'd swap it in my R/T and vice versa and keep it as a winter beater. So I'd have a sleeper and a car for winter.

Might try to offer the guy 6k(About $4200USD) since I could tell him details about the wreck and that it isn't worth that much?

EDIT: Forgot to say, the ad says the mechanics are in perfect condition and that it was inspected by a certified mechanic.

The fact that he didn't mention the car has been wrecked is you first clue something is fishy.

If the insurance company took the car, that means it was probably totaled out. I'd be very weary of frame damage that you can't see.

I'd say pass on that car, it looks like you'll just be buying somebody elses headache.

4k usd is alittle steep for parts on an engine swap. for 1.5 k more you can have Matt do one for you, parts, labor, and all. that's if he still does it.

I believe that also includes a hotel room in town while he does the swap for you.

correct. and a 100 mile turn key service. he will drive the car 100 miles and if anything is wrong with the swap he WILL fix it.

Interesting. I wonder if the car was like that before the wreck?

In the pic above, it looks like the pass front is shaved too, leading me to believe that the drivers front was probably done at that time.

Meaning both front doors were probably replaced.

The car was considered totaled. The damage was only exterior. The rest of the car was not damaged. The owner wanted to get insurance money for the car because he could not afford it any more so one night after work he took off the one tire that’s missing and took an axe to the outside. Drive train wise the car was in very good shape last time I saw the car.

Sounds like a sick version of The Shining to me. :violent1:

Just don't take it to any drive in theaters where it is playing, and the car will be fine!
