Interior Roof Pic Request. (lcd mounting)

Post by ZeroChad » Tue Mar 17, 2009 10:31 am

I'm looking of a picture of the interior with headliner removed. Specifically I would like to see what the area in the center between the visors looks like. I'm particularly interested in mounting room.

well if you don't have a sunroof then theres plenty of room if you take your headliner out the is about a inch to a inch in a half of difference in the roof area but by the visor very little. and about three forths of the way back is a support that goes across. what do you plan on mounting???

I'm looking at mounting an led monitor 8-12" to be used to view my future Megasquirt gauges. I was thining about having it slightly angled for viewing purposes, but for the most part, nearly flat to the roof. I think this would be a good spot to minimize sun reflections for viewing.
I would probably end up cutting the headliner around the area it is mounted.

there should be enough room for it, if not trim down the visors to make it fit. That should be cool to see done. You are going to have an issue I would think on keeping it mounted up there. but then again I have a sunroof so I have no room up there.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. There might not be enough depth for bolting. Some sort of adhesive bracket might be the best way to go.

you could always make a shallow fiberglass pod to hold them, or use a WRX/STI gauge pod and flip it upside down

something like that

Thanks for the pics. I like the wrx pod idea. I might have to check into that.

If the sunroof models have the same metal roofing, it looks like there is a hollow support towards the front there that I could drill into! Awesome.

Yeah there is a brace up front you can drill into, and in the center of the car between the b pillars.
