95 head ?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

With the exception of a few different bolt holes it’s basically the same.

Yes, EXACTLY the same, except for 3 bolt holes for the valve cover, where the separate "tripod" coil mount Bracket would go, on the '95 head.
(3 of the threaded valvecover bolt holes are larger.)

You could just get the '95 cam, and install it into a 'newer' cylinder head, too, to get the same results.....

If the 95 head is usable, it might be worth it to port and polish the head and swap it all out at the same time. Although it would be best to have the head check first to make sure it isn't warped.

That should put you around 10.3-4ish compression.
