Thinkin bout gettin another 2gn...
Friend of mine has a 2000 Neon Auto, 149K miles that he wants to sell. Its automatic, white, and from what he said a DOHC 2.0L. But it has a few problems....tranny is slipping and the radiator needs replaced. How much would a auto trans run or could I just swap it to stick for the same money and how much would a raditator be? He's wantin a VERY low price (800-1000) for it. Would this be a good deal? As cheap as it is I might would keep it to beat around with when gas gets high and if I dont wanna drive my SRT-4 cause of the weather. My old trucks kill me on gas lol.

If it's stock it certainly isn't a DOHC. You could swap it pretty easy to a manual, or find someone that swapped to a manual and buy their trans.
The rad shouldn't be too bad, just be sure to get one for an auto trans car since it will have the internal trans cooler.
$800 - $1000 is a little high IMO for a "damaged car" I would say $500 - $700

Alright thanks man, Ill keep it in mind. Hell if I could find a replacement trans for about 200 bucks or less Id buy that car. A lil work later and its fixed. Might even do a lil bit to it unless my GF buys it off me or somethin.

I got a brand new radiator for around $150 I think. My transmission is on it's way out as well so i'll get back to you on how much that thing will cost.

Do you mean a t'stat like Perma Cool sells?sullivan wrote:if(make sure the tranny has a fluid temp bypass thinger)
They are well worth the $ (About $40)
The 40/41te shifts much better when the fluid temp stay constant and is not too cold. I had just a cooler on my Sundance Duster and it shifted weird. I installed one of these and it was a whole different animal.
I recommend the 1060 3/8 ports.
The 1/2" ports leave the walls too thin and the pot metal will crack with the slightest amount of torque when tightening down the nipple.
Yes I found out the hard way. Lucky for me I knew someone that could TIG weld.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
