i'll have to looking up on the drawings I made for my shifter adaptor's.

iirc, its a shade over 9/16" which would be just a little too big.

Yeah, if you wanted a Maddog STS you could probably have him turn down the rod just a little and it would fit just fine.

I'll try to find my drawings tonight to tell you what diameter I made my adaptors. It was a very nice fit, maybe just a few thousanths bigger than the rod.

You prbably wouldn't even need to buy an STS off of him. I bet you can just send him the knob and some loot ($35 core charge + whatever he charges you for the work). He'll then ship the knob and matching shift assembly back to you. Once you get your new shifter installed, send him your old one and he will refund you the $35 core charge.

well, i found the flash drive i used at school when i drew them, however i never put them into PDF format so they are in drw. and i can't find a free drw viewer.

if i find the paper drawings i'll let you know. also i'm sure maddog knows exactly how big the rod is on our shifters.

i got a generic aftermarket shifter knob from someone a while back very cheaply and it did fit just fine, but i had to use the knob itself and none of the smaller adapters. there is hope. it's dead easy to take your knob off and measure the shifter, just press down and turn.

The diameter on all of the Chrysler rods (5spd only), from late '89 production (non-reverse lock-out), until end of '05, is 14.63mm (+/- .05) , or .5765 (+/- .002).
What I can do to keep any extra cost out of the equation would be to simply replace the stock upper rod with more readily available smaller diameter stock, such as .547", or 13.90mm. Using that diameter stock would take almost all chance of "slop" out of the fit, which lengthens the servicable life of the knob. We all know what happens to a knob that keeps loosening - pretty soon, you wear the set screw threads out from periodic re-tightening.
