This is the rear end damage I was talking about. Not very pretty. This is why you never back you neon into a cop car kids.
Gonna cost me 4 grand to fix.

mine's bad, i popped the rear fascia off to find frame damage... and since it's unibody it's a lot more work than just pulling the frame. very frustrating.
Oh, and 03SXT, it was at a nightclub and no alcohol was involved. Lets just say I threw her in reverse without seeing him pull around the corner in his big ram 1500 with this huge-ass guard on it... no damage to the truck thou. lol

you should see the shit the Calgary Police service drive. they have a pair of military outfitted hummers, rams, dakotas, duangos, F150s, Intreps, Cavs & the obligitory Crown Vics. And some junkers they use for photo-radar. Not too mention all the SWAT Armored shit.

4 g's? how the fuck would it cost so much. $1500 tops for a new rear and paint/install. And if you need a new trunk then add another maybe $800. It shouldnt cost more than 2k.

unibody my friend. the frame is welded to all the panels beneath. in addition to the frame damage there's like a half dozen plates that are crushed. It's rediculous... I've been too 3 bodyshops and they all quoted around inside 3000-4000 ... annoying shit.
I figured i'd just need to install a new painted bumper and get a frame pull, but nowhere that easy.

Hey,
I'm an estimator for a bodyshop..How fast wee you backing up?
Do you have any photos of the underside of the car or inside the trunk (w/carpet pulleed back)? Are the 1/4 panels damaged? I just dont see 4g's damage unless you were backing up at full throttle? Fax me a copy of one of the est. can you 520-624-1590...i would like to see what you are being charged for.

I dunno, SupaDawg... Think it's time to look for a new Neon. Insurance isn't covering anything? Of course, you DID back into a police cruiser... Seems like a lotta work and work that needs to be done right.

Yah tigger, i'll fax ya a copy tommorow. There does appear to be a small ammount of 1/4 panel damage.
Keep in mind everyone, it's 4k canadian... which is only $3400USD. I thought about getting a new neon, but this one still has 2 years left... wouldnt want to trade in... i'd get dick all for it... be lucky if they took it.

mmmm
my old 03 SXT at 7kmiles was worth $7000us..
at a $3400 estimate, it sounds like there trying to total your car, then turn around and fix it and resell it. Insurance companies play games like that all the time!
