What are you looking for in a car? A toy, a driver, etc?

You will certainly get a lot of people here who will suggest the SRT, however I don't think that is the way to go. Too many potential issues for it to be reliable used, especially since the newest SRT is now 4 years old. The majority of SRT owners were kids that didn't know WTF they were doing and I personally would not buy one. There is only 1 SRT that I would buy, and I know he's never selling it, there are probably a few others like it but they are very rare.

I'd vote SRT-4 out of those two choices. Or an RT/ACR Neon. What's your budget?

The SRT just isn't a good purchase anymore I don't think, unless you know the owner, and know that they kept amazing care of it. There are 2 SRT's on this board I'd own, and that's it. Both of them are still completely stock, low miles, and owned by hard core enthusists that take pristine care of the car.

Hell, I wouldn't even choose a mustang... they're too dime a dozen. Doesn't matter the year, there's 15 others in your area that look just like it.

I'd broaden my choice's if I were you.

Agreed, almost everyone has mustangs, regardless of where you live. And no offense to anyone, but most ford mustang owners are annoying douche bags...At least the many that I know.

I would be looking for a driver but reliable as well. Like i said before i am about to grad. from college and i wanted something a bit more faster and a stronger engine. So i guess i would be looking for a driver! I love neons and i like adding things to the car to make it go faster. check out my cardomain page
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3088218
My budget is under 10k that i can afford and still live comfortable. I am just trying to get some ideas on what and the make of some cars that could fit into what i want.
:)
Thanks

Sometimes I miss my SRT.. I bought it used and it was a mess I had to redo just about the entire car. Damn Kid didn't know what the hell he was doing. When I traded it in it was an 11 second car in great condition. But it was a lot of work to get it that way.

There are a bunch of cars that are more fun to drive and are better put together. I've almost had my MS3 for 1 year and after 15,000 miles I like it a million times better than my old SRT.

if you are looking for a driver and fun. get something like a lexus is300/ gs300 or 400. the older acura tl type s are good cars theres just so many good cars out there u need to know what u need.

but for me i would deff say a is300 there fast, sporty and luxury.

IS300 FTW if you dont mind a heavier car. But Im sure a 2JZ swap would fix that problem. Then you could swap out the twin turbos for something small like a single T88 :)

A 4th gen TDI jetta or golf would be sweet and could be had for 10 grand.

I say SRT-4

Cuz they're cheap as fuck and not all of them are beat to hell.

oh and an SRT-4 would absolutely destroy a 02 GT

I vote Mustang. Make sure its a 5spd.

An SRT, while fun, will never compare to the feeling of driving a V8/manual/RWD car.

If your budget is under 10k don't even think about an SRT....the good ones are about 15-16k. You can get a nice GT for your budget, but look around a lot.

You would be surprised at what you can find that will fit your budget.

x2

If i had 10k to spend on a car i would hop on craigslist, and when i went to look at the car(s) i would dissect every inch of it to make sure nothing was wrong.

Not for 10K. Those AWD Avengers are expensive. My sister was looking at them and ended up buying an '09 Jeep Liberty.

ok so i have been thinking of a car to get and i have one in mind. Now i have always loved this car but i could never find one that was in good shape!! What do you guys think about a TSI AWD talon 1990? I love this car and they are cheap and that way i can save some money and just build it up and keep my current car. What you think?
