Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

do i really need to....

Post by w0158981 » Thu Mar 26, 2009 2:52 pm

so i went to a local tuner shop because i'm switching to my projectors soon, so i realize my current hid 9007 won't fit, so i figured i could just get h1 bulbs and be good, but the guy told me i need a complete new kit and its going to cost me 450$ i thought i could just pop in h1 bulbs and plug it into my kit... can't i?

If you're going for HID lighting, they're right. You have to put in some heavier gauge wiring and ballasts to provide power to the lights.

you just need the same thing in H1.. no need for a whole new kit.

I have a 9007 HID kit and have projectors now too. I tracked down my company that I got the 9007 from and bought the H1's that will work with my kit.

you should be able find your model and get the matching bulbs to fit.

Doesn't matter the brand of the bulbs either, just get a $40 pair on ebay.
