it's funny because we just got our first snow today. weird. it should've been way sooner.

you're right, there's nothing better to do but stay inside and drink, and venture onto 2gn to post ridiculous drunk posts, haha. the other thing that we do is find empty parking lots, and have some fun in the snow.

so i figured i'd update my list for my setup for next season. there was a few things i decided to add/change/take away from my previous list. so this list should be basically finalized.

the purpose of this car isn't to create un-usable power, its to create an incredibly fast responding srt, purpose built as a daily driver and weekend racer (auto-x and track), and a few nice additions to set my car apart from others.

Suspension:

- Lower the ride height on BC's
- Spend time testing and tuning the dampening and spring pre-load for optimal performance (compromise between street and track)
- Alignment specs: Front: somewhere in the ballpark of -2 degrees, +.2 degrees toe, stock caster spec (+2.60). Rear: -.8 degrees camber, +.3 degrees toe

Brakes:

- KVR drilled/slotted rotors
- Hawk HP+ pads

Wheel & Tire:

- Street/wet weather setup - 17x7.5 Enkei NT-03+m (+35mm offset), with BFGoodrich G-force sport (215/45/ZR17) **Already have these
- Track setup - 17x8 Enkei RPF1 (+35mm offset) with 245/40/17 Toyo RA-1 (tentative on the tires, it may end up being a different R-comp)
** I will also be rolling my fenders for added tire clearance

Engine/Exhaust/Etc:

- Hondata intake manifold spacer
- Full 3" CAI with full heat resistant wrap
- BFMIC
- Samco I/C hoses
- Catch Can
- Poly (or solid) shifter bushings
- Forward motion Road Race engine/transmission mounts
- 3" 02 and downpipe (with cat)
- Mopar stage 1
- port and polished intake manifold

Exterior:

- home depot front lip
- one-off carbon/kevlar hood
- one-off carbon/kevlar trunk
- black housing headlights (possibly lightly smoked)

Creature comforts (or discomforts):

- Sparco Evo/Evo 2 Plus race seat (to be swapped in for race weekends)
- DC pro-spec 1.0 driving shoe
- Snell compliant helmet
- alpinestars gloves (or other)

Extras if budget permits:

- 5 point harness
- vortex generator
- pvo spoiler moulded into carbon/kevlar trunk
- Front chin spoiler
- bigger TB

Already installed:
- Full poly kit
- Stainless brake lines
- DC rear strut brace
- aftermarket sways
- Mopar/borla exhaust with Magnaflow muffer in mid-pipe

If there is anything that an autox'er/time attacker can add to my list that I could benefit from, please make suggestions!

The list looks great however.... a five point harness is impossible to do properly in an SRT-4 without cutting apart the front seat for the anti-submarine belt. You may be better off with a four point. You're doing a home depot lip AND a chin spoiler or the spoiler if the money permits and no HD lip?

As for the brakes, I love my KVR rotors, got 100k out of the first set, but I absolutely HATE the Hawk HP+ pads, they don't stop as well as my old Hawkheads did. Not to mention they're insanely dusty and the company who sold them to me told me they wouldn't be. Lies all of them LIES!

. And what's this about one-off CF/Kevlar parts ey?

Most performance brake pads are designed to work at a very high temp, some much above what any smart person would produce with street driving.

Not that I doubt you, but Hawk pads are not all they're cracked up to be. I don't use them for race situations, but they don't have the bite they advertise that they do.

yeah, i was planning on getting a fixed-back race seat, and the model im looking at has the hole for the crotch belt, so i'm covered there.

to clarify on the lip, im doing the HD lip first, but if money permits, id like to pick up a chin spoiler like your's, crystal.

as for the brakes, that company definitely lied to you if they said the HP+'s wouldn't be dusty, haha. i've always known they were dusty. the reason i want to go with those pads is that they get up to operating temperature quickly. since there's time downtime between auto-x runs, the brakes will cool down a bit. so these pads fit the bill. the other ones i was looking at were hawk's DTC series, if they make them for the srt. theyre a little more track oriented though, so im not sure if i want to go that far.

the carbon/kevlar parts will be a secret, for now.

yeah, my original seat choice of a sparco evo might be changed now, because i want an FIA compliant seat just incase the srt turns into a track car down the road. i want to be as safe as possible in that case, and dont wanna pay twice for seats!

i'm now looking into a sparco pro 2000. which also has the crotch belt loop.

What did you run in the RT again? I remember going out for some cornering runs and what not with you in the RT and the braking power was incredible. I thought you ran the Hawks..??

i did, but they were hawk HP Street pads (HPS). these ones are supposed to have some more bite, but they're a little more dusty as a result.

so, after a long time of not buying parts or modding the srt, i have a couple things on the go, finally!

This week I'm picking up a couple used parts from a local:

- Weapon R catch can (the srt-4 specific one...needing to do more research on this, as there are mixed reviews)
- AEM CAI (polished, needs to be cleaned up)

also, this weekend i'm fabricating a front splitter out of aluminum with a good friend of mine. should be similar to the one you can buy from CBD. it will be painted or powdercoated black once it's all finalized, and could turn into something i can make for clients of ours (i am co-founding a performance parts retailer here on the East Coast of Canada...more on that later).

so yeah, that's what i'm up to lately. spring is almost here, hope everyone is making progress with their builds!

i took a trip to find my aluminum yesterday, and the required hardware to mount the splitter.

i found the aluminum in the size i need, and the price was pretty reasonable (.16 gauge sheet aluminum, 3'x5' = $55 CDN) i thought it would be way more than that. i may order it in a 3'x6' sheet so that i can make some front bumper spacers with the extra as well.

then i went to find the hardware needed to mount it to the underside of the car, and the rod supports that mount to the bumper. although the underside mounts will be easy to get hardware for, the store i was at didn't have small enough rod ends for my liking, so i will have to keep looking. i did look at buying a set of APR supports as well, but that would eliminate any cost-effectiveness of this project as they're about $60 USD a pair plus shipping. i can do way better than that. once i find my supports, i will be all set.

i'll keep you all updated on the progress.
