Clutch Replacement?
Clutch Replacement?
okay, i have an 02', and wanted to know roughly when the clutch needs to be replaced. i know that it depends on driver to driver, but in general, has anyone had to replace their clutch?
i have 76k miles on the car, and just wanted to prepare before doing any more mods to the car.
thanks.

THought I'd throw this out there, last time I heard Fenton wasn't doing discounts anymore... unless something new has come up.tamadrumr88 wrote:i will probably have to replace my clutch soon and i have 48k on my '01
definitely go with the NA PT cruiser clutch from Fenton Dodge..... direct fit and its rated for more torque, some say it has a softer pedal feel tho... pretty cheap too
But yeah... it does really depend on the driver. I thought mine was going out around 40K but now I have 50K and it's holding strong. I woudnt' worry with it until you start feeling it slip.

Well probably higher than 4000rpms, at this height theres a huge power loss so you have to launch at high revs.quicksilvr wrote:Baal wrote:its 90% driver dependant, i blew mine at 15k miles.

Holy fried clutch disc's batman, that's crazy. 15k?! Were you doing 4000 rpm clutch drops on a regular basis? I have 79k on my original clutch, and it works great. I
and yeah i didnt just wear it out, one day racing in the streets it just blew up, now i have a pt clutch, i hope it will last longer

Well yeah... that'd do itesteinmaier wrote:16788 miles, and I'm having slippage. It's not horrible, but once the car is fully warm, I can't floor it in either 4th or 5th. I'm planning a PT transplant. I blame it on my tendency to keep the car from rolling back at stoplights with the clutch instead of the brake.

so what your saying is you beat it back into submission?BlackRoseRacing wrote:![]()
When mine starts to slip, I throw on the drag slicks...do a couple burnouts then throw the street wheels back on and all is fine...
Most clutches will probably start to glaze over giving that so called worn out feel, break this glaze and all is well....

I've got over 89 000mi on my 00. I don't believe the clutch has ever been changed. Works as well as the day I bought it.
Also makes a difference that I don't use it much either.
