Newested mods. Painted stuff.

Post by kornholio788 » Sun Apr 05, 2009 12:17 am

Couple shots of my newest painted stuff.

Door panels. These are just the rears. I haven't gotten to the fronts yet. But they will be the same. Smoothed out the doors and painted them black. Threw suede on the inserts. The specs aren't imperfections. Just dust. Haven't cleaned them for a couple days so.

Shot of the c pillars. Moulded them in. They are 6.5 in polks. Love the way they look and sound amazing with the rest of the system(kicker components, 4in in the dash, 2 12in JL subs)
Image
Image

Pic of the dash. Not new but never got pics with the speakers in there. Sounds great.
Image

Painted the gauge pod as well. Bling blang blouw!

Let me know what you think. Good or bad. Alot more pics to come when I get more done. Car club is getting back in gear so I gotta start bustin ass.

Very nice, I just love the 6.5s in the C pillars. I've been waiting to see those. Were you doing a fiberglass rear deck too or was that someone else?

No that wasn't me. But I am thinking about doing it. not sure yet. I originally planned on just wrapping it in the black suede. But I am afraid the sun is gunna fade it. As it faded the material I wrapped it in previuosly very bad. So. Not sure yet. I might just paint it over time so I dont have to worry about it. Don't know if I am gunna mold anything into it yet.

Thanks though!

Paint it as in paint the carpet? I thought about painting it using the headliner painting technique, but I want to get another one to try it on in case it ends badlyI think it would look really good if you did it in fiberglass or something smooth and painted it to match the pillars and doors, with or without speakers. I have my 6x9s on top of the carpet.

No. I would fiberglass it so it nice and hard and can paint it so it is perfect and such.

I had mine like that too. And i took them out to get more bass into the cabin. That is why I glassed the speakers into the c pillars.

im the one with the fiberglass rear deck. and c pillars. i molded 6x9 grills in my rear deck and 5.25 in the c pillars.
and korn i like the doors and all the other stuff painted BUTTTT. the black sued does really flow with the rear door cuz it looks like an off kolor. it almost looks like purple. i think unstead of sued u should paint those door inserts the same color as ur did the center bezel. maybe its the angle i dont know. but it looks good.

It is actually a much better black in person. The camera didn't capture the color very well. And nah about the color. That would be too much and wouldn't go with any other parts that color is on.

Thanks though.

The workmanship is great, but I dislike that switch panel on the dash pad, it's very boxy, awkward and out of place looking to me. Everything else looks good, though I wouldn't want to be in your backseat with a speaker in my head LOL

In the future(probably over next winter) I will be redoing that whole pad and taking out that box. And instead probably going with 2 gauges instead of one like I have there.

Thanks though. And ya everyone says that haha. I rarely have people back there though. And when I get my beater in a week no one will be back there. If I have to bring people somewhere I will take my other car. NOT my neon lol.

It will be painted. Doing this kinda of quality work takes time. I can't get it all done in one day!

I like in a very nice city. And she is garaged. As soon as I have this other car...she will only come out on nice days and to shows and to places where I can keep an eye on the car.

Nice work on the c pillars and the door panels though.

Thanks guys.

As for the dash being too busy and all teh clutter. I will be building a car pc for it over the summer/winter so the zune and gps will be gone. And all the switches and that top dash will be redone as well.

I saw this in person on Saturday, and man... those pics do NOT do these mods any justice at all. It's freaking insane how nice this stuff looks!

Dan, I hope that light didn't mess up the paint tho? I didn't even think to offer you a towel or something so it wouldn't rub!
