What brand of High Performance Coil and spark plug wires are you using? And what is the best one?

Yeah as soon as I clicked submit, I realized that there are better solutions for OEM wires. Didn't bother changing it, though. :tardbang:

Screaming demon is the best coil but its only worth if i you do an extreme engine build or boost setup.

everyone has their own opinions. Some say stock coil some say the msd. Granatelli wires are popular as well.

Best wires are the Magnecores, MSD's, and Granatelli's.

I like the Screamin' Demon coil, but I really don't notice any difference compared to a stock coil.
Good wires (and clean PLUGS) are more important.

I've always thought 70k was the magic number for coil and wire replacement. Superstition perhaps.

I went with MSD wires. They have a relatively low DC resistance, and also appear to be very durable as well. I replaced my stock coil with a Screaming Demon. My stock coil had begun to oxidize on the #4 contact. This is usually a sign that the coil should be replaced.

I rock a stock coilpack and MSD wires. Don't bother upgrading them unless you need it anyway. No performance gains to speak of. The factory ignition system is solid, much like everything else on these cars.

Iv put a stock set of wires on mine to solve a studder but the coil is at 135000kms and still strong

Like I said, if you need a tune up, go with aftermarket stuff. It's not worth the money if you don't need to replace it, but in your case I'd recommend it. MSD coil and wires are a good choice.

Ive got a little over 77k on my stock coil. No issues, and see no reason to change it.

I like to over-maintain my car personally, so my advise is biased towards that. Nothing on my car sees more than 1/2 normal service intervals. It's better to be safe than sorry, especially with stuff that doesn't cost a lot.

picked up a granatelli(sp?) coil pack and wires from modern. havn't gotten them yet so i'll see how they run when I get them in. My car had over 100,000 miles when i got it so i'm just trying to get all the general maintenance up to date. I'm with OB better safe than sorry especially on the cheaper stuff.

Meh, service life of a coil is when it fails.

Mine will never fail, as I don't want to try to color match it again!

When they can prove better output from an aftermarket coil, I might get one when mine fails.
But then a better spark than what's needed isn't going to make anymore power.

Screamin Demon coil and Crane Firewires here. I'm due for a new set of each... Coil's got over 70K on it. So new SD coil, and I'm thinking about trying out the Granatelli wires next time around...

me 80k+ still with the stock coil and wire, just got the spark plugs changed, feel pretty good recently.

i just find out this article talks about the resistance about the wire set. it's pretty interesting and some truths really make sense.

Did they make it so you could get roadhead while driving down the road without a girl in the passenger seat?

Otherwise they really didn't do anything.
