I appreciate the compliments guys and gals. Its good to hear from all of you. I've got the fender roller, its just having the time to have a meet up to do it. 4/18 n 4/25 are Subie weekends to do other guy's cars and my own. 5/2 is a meet/BBQ here in town with my lil group I hang with.
After that we hit summer so who knows?

i love your car. the silver with gold rims is perfect, and the fact that you did the wheels right and got a jdm rim for a japanese car is....well, its just a beautiful thing. you may have just made up my mind about what my next car will be.

^Thanks guys. I definately appreciate keeping the theme straight with the JDM. Phillipino knock-offs would not have cut it.
And yeah, the RS is pretty-well played out but I have always loved the wheel so....meh.
Plus the only other wheels I like are BBS and they are not JDM.

Yes, the stretch is good...I can't go too much more aggressive on a DD though. +29 is a pretty sick offset for these cars.

To fit these massive wheels under the fender you have to "pull" it after grinding away a bunch of metal underneath the painted skin. I'll them "skim-coat" the inside of the fender with Lord Fusor. This is a seam sealer that is used in fusing unibody seams together. This will protect from rust and help the fender retain it rigidity. ("ill pump the goop in between the two panels and clamp it all together with 20000 ratcheting clamps...LOL
Then the fascia piece goes back on and is Dremeled inside to match the new "pulled" fender and voila'
+29 offset GTR face Advans on an STI.

So to put it simply..I pounded the shi* out of it with a dead blow hammer and hit it with a fender roller about 100 times...

I don't know. I wouldn't call it "rigging" it. Its what the pros do when they wanna put lots of rubber under the car to road-race. Impreza's have oddly cramped rear wheel-wells.
And as far as the way I am doing it, it'll be show car quality.

Check out my buddy Dave's car in the latest Import Tuner. His rears are done the same way.

Dude, this Saturday is a Meet/BBQ in Tracy. You have my cell. Call me if you can make it. There'll be a SICK SRT-4 there...

Looking very good. I'm going to have to roll the fenders on my GTI in order to dump it on coils with 8.5" wheels. Problem is, I'm in the middle of nowhere with K.C. being the closest place where someone could roll them. ANd I don't know any shops personally. I don't want to trust some stranger to do it.

WIll you have to paint yours? It looks like you drilled holes in them to pull them. Seems like a big process if you have to repaint and blend and everything...

http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/feflroliprot.html

Just pick a hot day and leave the car out in the sun as long as you can before you try to roll them maybe hit the lip with a hair dryer or heat gun. The heat should keep the paint from wrinkling/cracking.

I wouldnt trade my baseball bat for anything but my standards as far as looks are probably lower than yours.

You can rent a roller for like $75 or buy one for $300 and be very popular.
The ideal temps for the paint are between 125 and 140 degrees when you roll the area. You must go slowly and having a friend hold the heat-gun helps tremendously as you must adjust the roller rather frequently.
The holes in teh rear fenders are THE best thing EVER!!!! That is where a garnish piece goes back on that will cover up the mess after I scim-coat everything with Lord Fusor inside teh fender well and hit it all with some Rystolium BBQ black. ;]
And the art of "pulling" a fender consists of a big ass dead-blow hammer and some testicles...nothing more.

Got ya. For some reason I thought you had the blue one too.

Compaired to the engine bay of most of the modified Subies I see here, yours is like a work of art. I would love to replace all my fasteners like that.
